I hear it keeps pretty good time if you wind it.

That's incredibly cool that you got to wear it!

Well, that arm should be cut off. It’s useless now.

WOW you realize that by the end of this month, you may have just fondled the most expensive watch sold at auction ever.

That's me wrist alright.

Gentlemen, when I walked into the address provided on Phillips website listed for the LA "highlight tour", I did not know what to expect.

Much props and many thanks goes to Paul Boutros of Phillips/Bacs and Russo for personally meeting greeting and answering all the questions we naturally had. Every watch had its unique story and provenance; not only the PNPN, but a treasure trove of accompanying watches fit for such an important collection. Paul's knowledge and passion was evident. Top notch guy.

So now, why don't we sample another?

How's about a Big Crown 6200 Explorer Dial Submariner? It was unreal the condition this watch was in. All original, unscathed, for your viewing pleasure.

Next up: A Patent Pending Double Red Sea Dweller (sorry didn't get a pic of the back to show the patent pending stamp so I included one from their auction catalog). Brought to market by the original owner in impeccable condition.

It was surreal to see so many 50-60 year old watches looking showroom clean. They look like they came out of a time capsule.

I cannot believe they let anyone touch that watch, let alone try in on their wrist! What an amazing experience and story you have now!

The catalog estmates $134K-$186K on the Paul Newman. I don't know a lot about auction listings but that seems very conservative to me as I would guess it would go for much higher than that.
Edit: Looks like I was looking at the wrong watch. That catalog link- says the auction is Nov 11-12? I thought it was Oct 26? Is that the right catalog?

The valuation in the catalog I have simply states "in excess of 1 million USD".

With the irrefutable provenance of this watch, the history and storied life of the original owner, the fact that the proceeds will go toward Nell Newman's charitable foundation, we have ourselves a perfect storm for a bidding war the likes of which have never been seen.
