First Omega

Wanted something with a light color dial since I have the Air King black dial, DJ41 Blue and now the Aqua Terra 41 light gray dial...

Nice Omega

Did you purchase it on the alligator strap?

Yes, that's exactly what I wanted since I have my AK on Everest Rubber and of course my DJ41 is on Oyster so I wanted a different strap and choose the blue leather. Pictures are not great quality but it's a very nice watch. I was procrastinating for about a year and finally pulled the trigger. I was surprised that two of the B&M shops that I got my Rolex from neither could source this reference. Tried another source but he wanted to sell me the watch on rubber and them said "you can order the blue leather from Omega website...No, I want the watch as the reference number calls for not me spending more money on the leather strap..Cut him off real quick. Shoot, the strap and buckle is about $600 from Omega and that wasn't want I wanted in the first place. Glad I got it and on the wrist since FedEx delivered it..

Tell me about it . I swap between the bracelet and the blue Omega strap and deployant clasp on my blue Aqua Terra

Actually, now that I think about it, I've worn it exclusively on the alligator strap since purchasing the strap about a year ago. A close friend has always held the opinion this is the only way to wear an Aqua Terra and I always told him he was completely wrong. Then I tried it

Agee, In my opinion it looks a lot better on the leather strap depending on the dial color. Since I got the light gray dial I thought the dark blue strap was perfect for it. I didn't want it on SS since the dial is light it wouldn't have any contrast, looked too plain but with the dark blue leather it had some contrast which for me was the right combination. Glad I got it...

It’s a beautiful watch and I agree with you that combo has great contrast. I plan on adding the leather strap and deployment too. How do you go about cleaning the strap?

I'll chime in here and say my approach is to avoid exposing the strap to excessive perspiration or dirt so that cleaning isn't necessary. If I'm gonna be exerting on a hot, muggy day, then I'm wearing some other watch that's easy to rinse under the tap. If I were going to clean this alligator strap, then I suppose I would disassemble the combo and use Sapphire brand shoe products on it.

The black dial looks nice and clean. Congrats. Since I already had the Air King 116900 on black Everest and the DJ41 Blue S/O I wanted a lighter dial color on leather and decided to get mine. It's a great looking watch and the movement is spot on. Hate to say it even thou I don't wear my Rolex as much, but the Omega is +1 second the last three days and I like the display back to view the movement. They did really a nice job on the 8900 movement.

The display back is one of my favorite features. Beautiful little machine in there.
