Let’s talk Breguet - many pics

Hi all,

I absolutely love Breguet and have a greater appreciation of the brand after visiting their boutique in Geneva. I had a chance to try the guilloche machine and it was great fun!

I own the Marine timepiece and have just got an amazing Breguet fountain pen.

Please feel free to share all things Breguet.

Coincidentally, I was looking at several Breguets yesterday on the net. I do love their classic dials and cases. I have always wanted one but for some reason I’ve never pulled the trigger.

Love Breguet. Swatch do them such a disservice.

I've been obsessing over the 7027 and 7037 lately.

Please check them out in person - I am sure that will help you pull the trigger. The finishing across the timepiece is superb and up there for me with the best brands.

Me too - completely different to anything else on the market. I am also thinking about the 5707 which is the alarm watch - several types of guilloche and great depth to the movement.

Great pictures! I definitely need to visit a boutique. That would be awesome to see the guilloche cutting in person.

Breguet is an absolute delight of a brand. I have 11 now, so it can get out of hand! I don't post pictures here often due to the image size limit (partly my fault, I posted a titanic picture of Saturn here a few years back as a joking response to someone), but I can say that every time I wear a Breguet it brings a smile to my face.

I don't have the 5707 or 7027/7037 and but I've tried them on and they are lovely. The new blue enamel 5177bb is a showstopper in the real. Pictures not so much, but in person it's awesome, try it on. The new Marine line is slowly growing on me as they are also nicer in person than in pictures.

I'm not in the market for it, but one to try on is the new skeleton extra plat tourbillon. Lovely!

Nice post! I am sure we would all love to see your collection! Agree with you on the new Marine line. This was quite special

I think it’s a bit underrated, but I love the Type 20.

I moved this one out but it was a really great piece and hugely undervalued and underrated.

Very nice timepiece. On the secondary market, Breguet is amazing value relative to some other brands.

A worthy thread; that's for sure and some great pics. I've been developing an appreciation for the 5847, the marine royale. A very big watch with a big case. Not well reviewed but I tried one on a few years ago and it's been reviving itself in my head. The transatlantiques are underrated imo and definitely a good value.

Breguet was the first brand I fell in love with and this was my first "good" watch nearly 15 years ago.

I am wearing it today (as I often do) and it has lost none of the magic.

I’ve ignored Breguet for many years, with the exception of the La Tradition. As others have said there is nothing else like it.

However very recently I’ve become smitten with an older (pre Swatch) hand turned guilloche dialed Breguet. And now my nights are sleepless!

Breguet makes some really beautiful watches. The Type XXII is definitely one of the best chronographs made: easy to read time, stop watch, date and second timezone. The Marine Alarm offers amazing craftsmanship and complications for the money. The simple beauty of their enamel dial 5177 and 7147 are incredible in person, I want to get one of those for my wife. The Hora Mundi is a another amazing piece I hope to own some day.

Breguet does a HORRIBLE job advertising all of their watches. Their website rarely lists all the complications for each watch or movement. Without visiting their boutique in Las Vegas, I never would have appreciated the brand. Their boutique staff are amazing and passionate. Their websites lack of model specific information needs to fixed ASAP, it has really hurt the brand IMO.

I am a big fan of the La Tradition. As fast as there other watches are concerned the details of their dials are stunning.

Definitely. I stopped by the boutique and mentioned to the SA in the most sincere way I could that the watches were beautiful and the brand marketing didn't feel like it matched the quality of the product. SA responded that they don't like to market that much, Breguet is for the people in the know
He was a cool guy, he even louped my JLC while I was trying on a 7727, and traffic in the boutique was pretty good for a weekday, but yeah, I don't know what is up with their marketing.

Wow wow wow! What a great Breguet collection. I think we all have a problem but it’s one we embrace and share rather than worry about!

Breguet Marine Royale 5847BB

Like someone also mentioned above here, Breguet was always my desire to own and except for a Rolex I bought many moons ago, this is my first official watch as I see it.. I have only two Breguet's and this is the first one pictured in white gold with a alarm..
