AD Called

So yesterday morning I had no intention of buying a watch but in the afternoon an AD called to tell me they had an Explorer 2 Polar that was mine if I wanted it. I said I wasn’t interested as I’d picked up a black Exp 2. She said, why don’t you just come have a look.

Went by today and, well, now I own a Polar!! Beautiful watch. Very distinct. I traded the black dial on the spot. That may have been a mistake, but nothing that can’t be corrected if need be.

It was my first AD experience. They gave me the card but took off the stickers. No SS on display.

Not bad choice! I have tried both and still like the black dial better even if I wanted to like the polar dial.

Did they take a 1 for 1 trade or did you have to put some money on the table to get the new polar?

No. Not an even trade. Mine was used. I had bought the black one used, with no papers. They gave me $5k, which is a bit more than I paid for it.

Oh ok! I thought you had recently purchased the black one from them.

Could this be your one and only? Never owned a polar but I always have wanted one

Not sure if it could be a one and only. Depends on your needs. I also have a 36mm Explorer if I want to tone things down. But I’ll probably wear the polar 325+ days/year.

I own the 40m version, and it’s the most useful watch I own. I would own exactly what you just purchased but my wrist can’t handle it.

Congratulations, it’s a beautiful piece.
