Apparently priced at SFr 32,000.

Full, detailed writeup from Fratello:

Nice watch, sadly way above my price point. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised it’s gold given it’s the 50th anniversary and all, but I was hoping for a more approachable model.

Oh well. Attractive looking piece.

There will be more models commemorating the 50th anniversary. This one is just the opening salvo. Fratello pretty much said so on their review. There's too much $$$ to be had to limit the LE to just one watch. I'm sure we will see a SS variation in some form.

Even though a gold watch with a gold bracelet and a gold dial is not my cup of tea, I think this is a nice release for the 50th, given the historical connection of the gold moonwatch and the added touch of the new gold alloy they used.

Having said that, I agree with Ariel Adams when he says this is a bit... underwhelming. A Metas 1861 is a nice evolution, but this deserved more. A simple reproduction of a historic watch with a slight upgrade on the caiber is too litlle for the 50th, imo. I'm hoping they're saving the bang for the steel model.

Would it make sense for Omega to release an SS version with a superior movement to the YG version? Within months/weeks of each other.

There will be another version.......nothing wrong with this though if you're looking for all YG. You can already have an idea that there won't be 321 movement but this 3861 instead and the casebacks/packaging seems like a nice touch.

I really hope that’s true. I was expecting something similar from Zenith for their 50th announcement, some sort of SS model, but nope, just a $50,000 box set.

I like this better than the Pt version released last year (they were automatic moonphase though).

What could the SS possibly look like? Maybe same
DON bezel (but black) and same decorated movement (but not gold).

What special feature could the SS have that they didnt put in the YG?

Doesn’t need to be any more special - needs lower price point

Interesting. I imagine the new movement may find its way into the standard speedy pro moonwatches. I wonder how this may impact the older models?

Why would they put the 321 on the SS but not the YG?

If 321 harder to produce, made more sense to case it in WG or Pt.

Thats what am thinking. Almost the same. Save for bezel (would be black) and metal (would be steel).

A great start to the 50th anniversary celebration for a (very) targeted audience. Either you like the 'homage' thing or you don't. I personally like it a lot but am also waiting for the SS model (s).
