Rolex explorer 2

I am going to try on the explorer 2 next week with the black dial. I was just wondering if anyone has any side by side pictures of the pair (white and black) on their wrists? Because I haven't tried the white dial version on yet either (been quoted a few months to wait for one to come in).

Thanks.

I have the white (polar). Get the one you prefer. But it’s tough to know without seeing it in person.

I had thought polar but ended up black dial after seeing the, side by side. You need to see both in your wrist.

Agree with this. It's best to try them both if you can.
I went into the store thinking black and came out with white.

Both great watches, currently under valued comparing to other Rolex sports models. I think that the value will go up very soon so it's good investment too. I personally prefer the black dial. Good luck!

Well, on the Vintage Forum I can only encourage you to find a nice 1655.

(I’ve owned a black version of the newer Explorer II, and I found the dial too big and the hands way too thick/wide.) I flipped it within a week. Make sure you try it on.)

I think there is no straight right answer for white or black explorer II. I own both dial colors (5 digits model) and love them equally. Try it in person to see which one you like more may be the best solution

I had to make the white/black decision 30 years ago and went with white just to have something different. It's been on my wrist regularly since then.
About a year and a half ago I decided I wanted to get a black face Explorer II.
Now I swap them every other day.
I say start with the white face and eventually own both.

Not side by side but...

And for further comparison

I got the 16570 because I preferred size of the hands and the case.

The white E2 is a bit 'dressy' in my opinion. Look good with a tuxedo.

Surely you jest

My white Explorer II might be the least dressy Rolex I own, and it certainly should not be work with a tuxedo
