BLRO - you could set the damn thing on fire and it'll tell you the time. for one watch....you need a tank.

go AP. the Royal Oak is just the most beautiful watch design :-)

just Keep in mind. it takes some time to know how to handle an AP, beacuase you have to be more careful wearing it than you do with a Rolex. I got two bad scratches in the first two months after i got my first AP. now i know how to wear it and be more careful. that said you also need to be careful wearing your GMT with the ceramic bezel.

the best advice is to have both!

Curious. Why do some comments caution that you need to be more mindful with an AP vs a Rollie? I understand if its bec it's more expensive or bec it's more like "jewelry" but when I look at the AP design and feel on wrist, it actually feels like a pretty solid build and can handle a beating just as well as a Rollie? No offence meant really, just trying to understand.

Because the bezel of a Royal Oak or a Nautilus/Aquanaut is more sensitive than a Rolex bezel.

Well who knows when the call for 15500 will actually happen !

Not going to lie, tried on a 15400 back to back to the 15202 and it felt like a brick. Not sure if I shall pull the trigger on 15500. The 15202 is so svelte and light weight. Reminds me the comfort of an aquanaut.

The 15202 is an amazing piece - I considered getting one before picking up my 15450 but something about the lack of quick set and the second hand held me back from pulling the trigger.

Understood. Something about not having a second hand tho that I love again. The opposite of neurotically timing a Rolex for +/-2 seconds.

I have both and the BLRO is more than just its MSRP. I value both equally but if I had to choose, the BLRO hands down. They're so different, I think you should just have both.

No wrong answer here wear the one that calls to you. The BLRO is hotter right now but the upside is you could get a good price for it if you sold it now.

For a one watch collection, I'd keep the BLRO. 15500 is a finer piece, but the BLRO is much more vesatile for daily wear.

Thanks! Jumbo has been amazing. Was fun with the BLRO and was a tank, but back in AP, Jumbo is just on another level.

The finishing, the dial, the bracet, the weight (lack there of), the movement and case back, the lack of seconds hand. All just perfect.

AP's a much nicer watch, but that's exactly why it's probably not as good as a "one watch." Technically, it's plenty durable, but they don't look as good when beat-up. Additionally, the lack of micro-adjustment clasp on the AP would bother me if it was my only watch. Maybe look at a 15710 (the diver) -- those could take a beating and look good doing it, but also still give you AP's heightened finishing, if not quite to the same level as the 15500.

Good choice. BLRO is fun but hyped and in the end its just a Rolex GMT. RO is different level (i have both). Although i would not pick eather one for a daily. BLRO difficult to pair. RO is bit sensitive. Maybe add a black sub or exp1?

I definitely would prefer the 15500. I'm not a one watch guy, and don't think I'd want to daily either of those though.
