Is a rehaut kermit worth more than a non-rehaut?

I've been told that a rehaut kermit is worth 2000 more than a non-rehaut one... Is that true?

I think the "flat four" kermits are worth the most which do not have the rehaut.

Agree with above, flat 4, Y and early F serials are non rehault and worth the most. I don't think rehaul 16610LV are worth more than non ones.

It is estimated there were no more than a few hundred Kermit's produced right at the end of its production life that left the factory with random serial numbers.

There has been evidence of one of these watches featured here on TRF - they are super rare but not widely known or talked about much on the forums generally.

It is my honest opinion that one day these will have a massive premium over and above even what the flat 4's are fetchig currently.

I do'nt think so.........all new Rolexes do have a rehaut now....hundreds of thousands/millions will follow.......a non rehaut therefore will be excusive more and more.

And the random is truly the rarest of them all without a doubt and thus commands the highest premium. Finding one though good luck won't happen. I know of only 2 people that have or had one on this forum.

Other than the random serial, are they any different from the other rehauts?

Any products worth is only what some are willing to pay, with all the internet hype that surrounds the 16610LV many today buy the hype to wear.Speaking for myself would not pay crazy prices for any 16610LV. Yes its nice watch but still a normal 16610 with a maxi dial green insert thats just a cosmetically changed 16610.And with being around Rolex watches for around 50 years I have never seen any Rolex increase in value just by a serial number only.

Has there ever been a Rolex that is in such a unique position?

A true transitional piece between the old school 5 digit references with its aluminium bezel, yet bang up to date maxi dial, engraved rehaught & random serial number.

That is why I believe, one day these unicorns will be much more highly prized amongst collectors than the flat 4, oval O references currently commanding the highest premiums.

To say that something is "worth" substantially more than another similar item would take a market for it.

In this case, some collectors will pay big for those that are truly rare and difficult to find. If there was an LV with pierced lugs, for example, like one initially shown on Rolex ads, it would be king-of-them-all.

The odds of the typical enthusiast falling into one of these rare animals is astronomical.

I rarely see a G if ever, mine is just a Z. I originally wanted a Rehaut model but this one just came my way.

I specifically didn’t want a RBR watch. No premium to me. Condition is king.

Probably not, since they're so rare they never come up for public sale... which should tell you something about the price.

Heck no.

Flat 4 means the top of the 4 is flat and not pointed on the 40 numeral on the dive bezel insert.
