Can you help me identify this Rolex?

Hello all,

yesterday I opened a safe that I seldom check and found inside a dear memory, this Rolex having been given to me as a wedding present when I married my late first wife, in 1988 (she died in 1992). I sincerely have no idea about what this is; I wear GMTs since I was 18yo but my (scarce) knowledge of Rolex watches is limited to my small collections of GMTs, an Explorer II and not much more. I haven't worn it much in the past and not at all in past few years, though I've moved it every few months just to keep it 'alive'. Can anyone in this excellent Forum, full of really knowledgeable people, help me understanding what model it is? I know it has no real worth but I don't care, as, being such a special watch for me, I shall never sell it. Thanks!

Stefano Pasini

1954 Oyster Perpetual Date, ref 65xx...

Or close- The actual numbers would be on the side of the case that could verify this.

I would agree with 1954, but suggest 63xx as more likely model
