Nice one Frank. Fuchsia inserts are very unique. They're "a child" of the later 1960s and not only do many exhibit some type of fading they are also unique due to the color change from red to fuchsia. Here is my 1968 fuchsia.

Sir Springer, concerning the inside face of inserts, would you kindly set a date on when reds turned blue, please? Thanks!

I go only guess. I'd say 1983 or 1984 with some overlap.

Correct. I have an original condition 7.19M 1982 16750 with Red Back. The blue back inserts phased in a year or two after that from my understanding.

Over the winter they didn’t fade much when UV was 2, but there is much greater progress when UV levels are above 7.

The red in the Coke bezel seem to fade from the Center outward to the edges. The Red on the Pepsi appears to turn pink evenly.

Here’s are two updated images of the Coke insert after 6 months out in the California sun. Notice how the bezel faded from the middle out towards the edges.

That is not correct. The early 16750 matte dials came with red backs.

Here’s my recently acquired Fuchsia GMT arriving late to the party! These GMTs have grown on me immensely lately but especially the Fuchsias!

Faded inserts are awesome:)

Does anyone know if inserts like this will continue to fade? Or does it stop at some point?
