i really like the design of the previous version where the locking mechanism was all a single piece, did you get this one cause you like the design better, or do you think this is more secure/durable?

It is the clasp from the 5968 and 5168g (green). They haven't updated the 5167/5164's yet with this clasp

Is the color difference noticeable (I assume it’s WG vs the steel of the 5167)?

First of all i bought the clasp from HSWA, i bought it because it is much nicer than the old one, and the clasp is more solid and more secured than the old one, maybe its just me, but the details of the clasp adds a nice touch l, a bit classy now for a sporty watch, thats what is expected from PP :)

Interesting. I am very happy with my 2018 clasp and haven't had the slightest problem. So I think I'll keep my "vintage" clasp.

Wait, so it's easy enough to order the new clasp for a watch it wasn't originally intended for?

It's not the look that concerns me with my 5167R. It's that the locking mechanism may become more supple over time, which can lead to unintentional unclasping.

It mostly feels secure, aside from a few instances where I thought it unfastened unexpectedly. I'm hoping this doesn't become a more significant issue too soon.

Nice. You’d think you could also order fold over clasp for bracelet Nautilus.

I experienced this as well but it’s easily addressed by adjusting the prongs on the clasp. No need to baby it and it can be fixed.

Looks good, I had to check my one for the difference as I look at it so infrequently so not a change I need to make.
