Will service center touch a refinished watch?

Does anyone know if patek will refinish or service a watch that has been touched or refinished by a 3rd party service center?

Asking as I purchased a watch second hand and it appears to have been polished

It all about $$$$..... & it will cost you $$$$...... If you willing to pay.....

The US service center in NY (HSWA) advised me they do not refinish watch cases which have been polished or repaired by third parties. Whether there have been exceptions who knows.

Not Patek, but RSC marked my GMT as refinished and then proceeded to restore correct finishing. It may depend on the amount of work required. In my case it was correcting the brushing on the bracelet and brushing the incorrectly polished surface on the underside of the bezel.

Can anyone give a more definite answer? I see two contradicting responses

I would be very surprised if there was a generic answer to your question.

If you do want to get the piece serviced I'd just send it to HSWA w/o providing any history on previous work and see what happens... Nothing to lose...

Surely you could just request a replacement case / bezel for example when handed it in if wanted to and they would do it for you. Obviously cost you an a fair bit!
