GMT Batman

Just picked up a GMT SS TT bezel. Got 15% discount. Did I pay too much?

GMT SS TT Bezel, what is that? If you mean a BLNR, it depends on what the final price was, is it 15% off MSRP, if so, that is amazing. I don't know who these ADs are that can give 15% off list in a seller's market.

Congrats.

I doubt they are impossible to get, but I believe through normal channels (RSC) they will only supply the bezel on a swap basis. Don't think they want people to be able to easily swap bezels like on the previous aluminum models and would rather people have to actually buy the different watches. Not sure what would happen if you actually lost your BLNR bezel and didn't have a trade-in. I suppose they could look it up via the serial number to determine what bezel originally came with the watch.

Now all you need to do is source a BLNR dial and 24 hour hand and you've got yourself both models.

Amazing deal...even through trusted sellers on TRF they are only a few hundred off MSRP when BNIB. Congratulations on a great watch! (I just picked up mine last weekend)

Congratulations on your purchase. 15% off of the MSRP is a great deal considering this watch is one, if not the hottest Rolex watch currently (from what I have been told) and depending on your location, it can be problematic to acquire. Got mine last week and love it. It has been a long time since a new watch has provided me with so much excitement.

Post some pictures of your watch if you have the time.

Pete, congrats on the GMT II.

Did the dealer include the 13% tax in the final price, if he did it would mean the discount was 2%. Still better than none

I never really understand the point of these threads when the watch has already been purchased.

This sounds like a maths riddle and I was never that great at maths. I struggle to work out how 15% whether termed net or gross can become 2%. Isn't the question whether it was 15/100ths or 15/115ths?

I guess if the bracelet is unsized and the stickers are still in place, he could always return it if he finds a better deal elsewhere?

i find it hard to believe actually.

if your AD did that, he/she is an idiot.......

i now understand why Rolex pulls AD licensing for discounting....

apples and oranges.

its 15% off the msrp.

and sales tax is applied to money paid to 2% is not accurate. its the sales tax applied to money paid.

You're right, I oversimplified it. His discount would be around 4%.

Assuming the discount was off MSRP; BLNR ($10,196) X 15% (0.85) X Tax (1.13) = $9793.26.

Are you suggesting the dial on a regular GMT-C is different from that of the BLNR? I think they use the same dial.

But does the tax apply whether it is full msrp or discounted?

I understand we're at 85% of net plus tax, but that still surely is a lot more than 4% less than 100% of net plus tax?

Appreciate the maths lesson here guys

Same dial but the font's different. No green font on the BLNR.

But I think it's besides the point. For some odd reason I read the OP as though he had purchased a BLNR bezel. Apparently I was the only one. Everyone else seemed to understand he had bought the whole watch. DOH!!

I picked it up on Saturday from my local AD. I had been trying to see one in person for over a year and when I finally found one...I had to take her home:)

Nice!!

It's a stunning watch. Love the contrast and the complication.
