Yesterday, Newcastle Upon Tyne UK town centre. Only YG, but I was surprised by how much better the RG 36mm looked on me. Will wait and see RG 40mm, compare to ALS Lange 1, 1815. and the new surprise player the 36mm RG DD.

Kind of a bad, hurried iPhone photo of a YG DD 40 next to a RG DD II at a grey dealer in Tokyo yesterday.

I love the dials but think I like the 36mm better. In person it seemed to big for me. I thought this was strange since a 42mm Exp II has been a daily wearer for me for a while.

Thanks for the picture. The black dial and yellow gold looks gorgeous!

I'm trying to decide between the champagne dial and the diagonal stick dial for the YG DD40. I like the new style roman numerals but I also like the diagonal cross hatch dial. I want both!

The best shot I've seen of the WG blue dial w/deconstructed Romans (and I've searched the net extensively) is on the Rolex Facebook page.

Here's the link. I don't have the technical skills to post it here.

I'm missed this sorry.

I really like the look of the newer end link design, and think it flows into the case nicer than the DD2, just my opinion

As I recall the DD40 visually did appear a bit smaller than the DD2 in a good way.

What really got my attanetion was the new dials. I know some here aren't liking them as much, but i like them. The size difference in the Romnas is significant on the DD40, which I quite like, although I think I'd still opt for the stick dial with lume.

Got this yesterday...

Also tried on the new RG with chocolate motif and absolutely loved it!! Thought for a bit about getting the both as crazy as that might sound to most although I know a few here who have thought same thing.

Love these new motif dials - my favorite Rolex dials in a long time. One has to see in person to truly appreciate them.

This one also caught my eye thanks to Neil's constant pics had to try it on...Just a thought.

So between this and RG DD40 to go with my new YG DD40....Decisions.

Congrats on a new, yet classic DD I agree they are both winners

Huge congrats on the newest acquisition Ken! Looks stunning.

My suggestion would be to go with the YG Blue Sub to accompany your newest piece. The wrist shot looks spectacular.

Incoming!

Talked with my AD yesterday and my 228239 DD40 will arrive next week.
I will post some pictures once it is on my wrist.
This is a special watch in celebration of my 65th birthday this month.

Totally agree with Ken about the motif dials. Especially the chocolate motif dial on the Everose Gold model which I tried on yesterday.

Tried it on again today as thought of adding it as well. Chose the YG silver motif though as for me it was perfect classic combo. Perhaps some day I'll add the RG chocolate too but ended up getting Sub today instead to go with new YG DD 40. The are all so nice Eric so hard to miss on any of them.
