BLNR soul mate required -SDc or Yachtmaster Blue Dial

I have a BLNR and I am now flipping my SubC for another piece.

The SDc is on the hit list due to the slimmer lugs which I have finally had enough of with the SubC. But with small wrists and the love of blue I am also thinking of the Yachtmaster.

Which would you add?

I have a BLNR and if I were in your position I would add a white dial Explorer II... (sorry I didn't say blue dial)
Or I would save for a 5711 which I'm currently doing
But I love the blue dial YM :D :D so It's pretty confusing

I understand you prefer trimmer lugs to those of the Sub-C. The question then becomes do you like the more tool/diver design or are you looking for something a bit more elegant?

If you liked older Subs and the brushed bracelet, the SDc might be the perfect alternative. If you are looking for a bit dressier, the YM. Both are great watches but with different appeal (IMO).

Good luck with whichever you select.

Keeping my eyes on this thread, was almost sure I was buying a SDc next but I've been eyeing the YM these days also with that blue dial. Funny we both have the BLNR which is a keeper for sure.

My vote goes to the YM. Since you already have a dark dial, see how the platinum dial feels. Then again, I'm biased.

You really need to figure this one out on your own. Both are great watches and have their own merits. If you don't like weight and thick the SD4K is out. In a rotation it's great. Some guys can make it work on its own. The Glidelock, lugs, bezel, crystal and dial make it a winner.

That blue dial YM thou

Exactly; it's more than looks at issue; what is comfortable is a big part of the decision!!!

Don't care for the Yachtmaster at all.

How about a non-ceramic GMT?

You'll have the old and new. mix it up with a different color scheme and feel.

Another vote for the SDC as well. They just go so well together. Amazing watch!

As an owner I'd get a Rolex sunburst blue dial wherever I could.

I've had all three and ended up keeping the blue YM.

But if you must keep BLNR, I would recommend Hulk as the perfect pairing. Black dial SD and blue dial YM overlap too much visually with BLNR to justify adding one of these choices.

YM blue has a very beautiful blue dial, but its fixed silver bezel cannot compete with SDc, IMHO. For me, I am a little leaning toward SDc.
