How reliable are Breitling watches?

I've never owned a Breitling timepiece, however, I would consider purchasing one in the future. Anyone ever have any issues with Breitling watches? Are they reliable and durable? I don't expect a Breitling watch to be Rolex quality but are they worth buying?

I have a 7750 based Chrono Superocean that I've had since May of 2010. I have had no issues whatsoever. I know that their in-house B01 movement has had some problems from the beginning. I don't know how limited those problems are as people like to mention the bad more than the good on the Internet. You can learn more at Breitlingsource.com.

Breitling are a fantastic brand. Not quite as rugged and reliable as Rolex but very good all the same.

I've had a 2006 superocean on a fighter bracelet .
1500 meter. I liked it and it was fairly rugged but
kept losing time ... i eventually traded up for my
Sub.

Never had any issues with my Breitlings and my old Rolex master watch maker (also Patek trained) considered the B01 to be one of the finest chronograph movements out there.

My Avenger Blackbird has the Caliber Breitling 17 movement, it keeps perfect time and has one of the smoothest winding mechanisms of any of my watches.

They take a hit on resale but they are supposed to be extremely reliable watches. There is some fanatic audience also.

I have a Navitimer Olympus that I purchased previously owned in about 2006. It's been serviced once since I've owned it and it keeps great time. I love it. It's a semi-perpetual calendar (only has to be reset once every 4 years). In fact, I'm wearing it today. Here it is:

I bought a Transocean day/date on a mesh bracelet. Wear it everyday for work both in and out of a workshop. Time keeping is great. It looks great as well.

Having owned both a GMT II and a Navitimer 01 LE which I still own, I would easily put it as the same quality as the Rolex. IMO, the dial work on the Navitimer 01 is better than the Rolex I owned. I've only owned a Navitimer 01(only Breitling I like) so I can't speak for the other Breitlings. I think Breitling as a brand gets bashed too much...mainly by snobs. Many of whom have never handled one!.

I understand their designs might not suit everyone but the quality is definitely there based on the one I own and the few I handled such as my cousins Unitime. This is coming from someone who had owned over 50 watches from Rolex to Breitling to more than a dozen Omegas etc!. Again, this is my opinion. Don't know much about movements but the B01 movement from what I have read and experienced is a good movement. Keeps excellent time. What I like is the 72 hour power reserve!.

Are you asking about the time tested and proven ETA calibers or the in-house manufacture movements?

I'm actually inquiring about both and the Breitling brand in general.

The Avenger ll Seawolf is built like a tank. It is rated for 3000 meter depth. A great dive watch if that is the style you are looking for.

5 Breitlings over the years. Zero reliability issues. I trust this brand as much as my Rolex and Omegas as reliability is concerned.

I have in the watch collecting game for alot of years. I have never heard a bad word about the Breitling. In fact their quality control has been praised as being one of the highest in the industry. Their watches have been able to maintain a consistent identity longer than most of the competition. Their is no reason to believe Breitling isnt as robust as as any of the other comparable brands like Omega and Rolex.

I own a Breitling Bentley. It is a tank. Better time keeping than all three of my Rolex's.

Just my personal experience but i have had a B50 and now B55 - the newer ani-digital quartz modules. Both have had issues and the B55 Breitling replaced the B50 after two issues. Now the B55 has gone back to replace fault display unit. These could be isolated incidents - with me being unlucky.

Otherwise, I can thoroughly recommend Breitling. Quality and workmanship up there with Omega and Rolex.

I've only heard of problems with the B50 & B55 models and a few of the early B01 in house back in 2009-2019 which I believe have been ironed out now and it's a fantastic movement.

I've got a Colt, Navi and Avenger Bandit, they all run within 1 second or so over a couple of days and the bandit seems to run at 0 secs per day. I've had no issues with any of them. I personally think for design they are one of the best looking watches you can get and all seem to be super reliable.

Very well built Swiss Made watches, mostly equipped with proven ETA movements. If you go diver's route, Breitling's Avenger and Superocean lines are easily among the toughest tool watches in their price category.

I recently traded for a breitling avenger seawolf titanium. It's 2002 model. It had never been serviced and was loosing 6 sec a day. I just got it back from a trip to the breitling spa. I'm super impressed with the turn around time and the workmanship. I sent it via AD who shipped it 2nd day mail insured for 5x what it's worth ( puke... but my dad has worked for the usps for 30 years- they lose/break stuff regularly) l. About a week went by and I got the quote- full service for $590 ($100 is shipping). I approved repairs 1/25 and was quoted 2 months. I recieved it back 2/13. Looks absolutely factory new and is running +5 sec/ day. Got a travel case and a microfiber cloth.

I am curious and asking? I'm looking for a luxury work in work out watch.

I am an attorney and I do go golfing with the boys to relax.

I will be looking to trade in my Rolex HULK in the coming days but haven't made up my mind on which breitling to go for. Maybe an avenger 2 seawolf? but will that be a fair deal? or does it involve cash as well my way or opposite direction? I have a couple of rolex Subs and Omega watches and will really love to add a breitling to my collections. Hope i don't seem crazy?

You should be looking at getting the Breitling plus $2500 in my opinion for your Hulk.
