Icon5 HELP! ROLEX MIDAS WATCH 1970s

Hi, I am being offered for sale a Rolex Midas Watch. No papers.
Outer case hallmarks, etc are perfect.
However the outer and inner registration numbers mismatch.
Seller assures Midas watches (Not Cellini) were originally released with mismatching numbers.
Is this so?

If you have any info, please let me know.

Thanks a lot.

Eda
