SS Daytona would be my choice.

Wanted to say thanks to everyone for chiming in. Appreciate all the input, both are awesome watches and it's a great "problem" or dilemma to have! Very interesting how close the poll ended up. All I can say is stay tuned! :)

Agreed with with the poll results that the 116500LN was the better watch (at least for me), I could wear it daily here in Hawaii and it was more understated which is important to me.

Before I pull the trigger and pay the hefty (but market rate) premium for a BNIB 116500LN (life is short!), I just wanted to circle back to TRF one more time and run another poll on the Black DaytonaC against the White Gold Oysterflex Daytona model (116519LN). There is still a significant price difference between the two even after the SS premium, but all things considered equal, which model do you guys like better?

The SS black dial DaytonaC or the WG Oysterflex DaytonaC? Has to be one or the other in my shoes, I've narrowed it down to either pulling the trigger on the SS DaytonaC or waiting a bit and grabbing the WG model later this year either from an AD locally or trusted seller when they start surfacing in the classified ads.

I would keep the SS Daytona OEM and wouldn't put an Everest strap or other strap on it most likely.

The SS Daytona appeals to me because of how understated/under the radar it "could" (?) be and of course the design is timeless, but I have always enjoyed watches on straps for their comfort and it seems like the WG model could still be a bit under the radar.

All opinions welcomed!!

Thanks as always.

Sammy

I will go for 116500LN, the WG/RG Ceramic with either rubber band or leather, I can't see the "gold" there.

As a Daytona 116500 LN 002 Owner, I must say that Daytona watches look nicer in bracelets than they look in rubber or leather straps.

actually quite surprised its such an even split considering there are astronomically more SS daytona owners vs oysterflex owners here and almost everyone votes for their watch. Adjusted for poll bias its pretty clear the WG is a big hit

For sure, I think many, including myself, really like the panda dial. Bracelet ofc would have been wonderful, but then for us in UK where discounts will not be forthcoming, the price would be exorbitant.

I really like the WG oyster flex but that's both 500Cs and some change right there. Assuming you get 1 500c at retail.

I would get the SS Daytona (assuming you can get for retail) for now, wait for the WG on OF to come down in price to a decent discount and then sell the SS and buy the WG.

WG Daytona with Oysterflex. I only base this on that Oysterflex it is insanely comfortable.

Black 500 no doubt. The day the WG dial comes on a WG bracelet (and you just know that day is coming), it will be a tougher call.

Oysterflex looks MUCH better on the RG YM (matte bezel insert matching the rubber better with a hint of RG).

I own a 6263 black dial, the WG Oysterflex reminds me of the 6263 white dial. so I would get the WG. To me the 116500LN seems a little toy-ish, the WG seems luxurious.

Don't you know there's the "Whatever's new is better" exception to the "I vote for what I own" rule?
