Will Rolex make a Steel Pepsi like the BLRO?
I was just watching a youtube video review of the BLRO by watchuwantinc
and they said they think a Pepsi in stainless steel is likely in the next couple of years. This seems like a bad idea for anyone who has bought the BLRO in WG, but as some people point out Rolex came out with a stainless steel Skydweller. So what does everyone think, will Rolex introduce a SS Pepsi? Will it send BLRO prices down further? |

It won't happen until the BLRO WG is disco-ed, if it ever is. Thus a SS Ceramic Coke is more likely.

It would instantly kill sales of the BLRO WG. Big mistake for Rolex if they did that. There will be a lot more profit in PM pieces for them compared to any SS version of the same watch.

I am pretty sure that they gonna re-issue the ss Pepsi. It is a matter of time.
Rolex is no dumb, they wanna cash on the Pepsi "mania". They created it!! and they are milking it with a long term strategy. They just don't rush things. They 'll wait until the gold Pepsi sales gonna dry up and than "boom" ss Pepsi is back and everyone gonna go crazy and buy it. Based on the fact that a new Daytona and SD came out I believe it's gonna be a few years before the ss Pepsi comes back.

If they release a Pepsi in SS, do you think they will make some minor changes at least? Will they discontinue the BLRO in WG?

Whenever Rolex makes a steel and a precious metal version of the watch there are always differences that will be unique to each watch. For instance, stainless Submariners are only available in a black or green dial and a white gold Submariner is only available in a blue dial.

it wouldn't surprise me if they did. but it will most likely be a coke before pepsi.
the swiss know watch sales are down, and if the 30 - 50yr olds want SS, why not? for example, the SkyD is now offered in a SS, and tudor went back to gold plating, and they even sell movements to Breitling --- anything can happen these days. except, the only PM sacred cow in the Rolex lineup will always be the Day Date. |

Well to be fair he said Tudor sells movements to Breitling, but that isn't exactly true either AFAIK, it's more of a swap. Brietling supplies their chronograph movement to Tudor, and Tudor provides the new Tudor 3 hand 72 hour movement to Breitling.

They're likely sold back and forth between Rolex/Tudor and Breit. They can't give or trade them away tax free when they get charged tax to manufacture.

It's not going to happen with the WG Pepsi and SS BLNR selling well. Perhaps a Coke in the future.

A steel pepsi with ceramic bezel would be a dream watch for me. I would attempt to buy it as soon as it's announced.
That said, it's unlikely it would be produced anytime soon, as the WG model seems to be selling in quantity according to what ADs have told me. |
