Dunkirk and a Vintage Omega

Just saw the movie, Dunkirk. In two scenes the pilot of a Spitfire looks at his Omega watch. Anyone see this movie and know what vintage Omega it was???

There are a lot of 40s and 50s RAF Omegas around. They used to be quite affordable but are rising.

White dial Omega, issued to RAF pilots in 1940, I saw info on another forum which my friend sent me, a collector picked one up a couple of years ago. A mark VII, looks like the one in film.

Thanks for identifying the watch. Saw it but couldn't make out the manufacturer.

Omega watch

It's actually a Omega Weems Mk VIIIA 6B/159 These have never been readily available or cheap.

Before the movie that was a £5K watch. I'd imagine if you can find one now it will be a £10k watch when watch fever percolates from the movie.

Offhand i think between Omega, Movado, Zenith, JLC and longines around 7000 of these type of watches where made for the RAF. Most i'm guessing in the north sea, and beyond.
