Got the call...
Hi y'all,
Just want to share both good and bad news I received... so for the bad news: I cannot get the SS Sky Dweller until much later as the blue dial they have is named after the CEO's friend already. The good news: they are giving me a SS white dial Daytona instead to ease my pain and suffering (since I finally decided last week that they can call me if they get a white dial in). Not sure how to react as I don't know what I like more and that I thought my business relationship with the AD is solid... i guess it's safe to say I am a little butt hurt. I know it's first world problems yada yada but still. Is how my AD treated me OK? Should I be looking at other ADs and bring my Rolex business elsewhere instead? Yeah...I think you'll be OK with a new Daytona to ease your suffering.

Jim you have to appreciate at least they were honest with you...even though the practice is a little suspect.
I would try the white dial on...it may exceed your expectations. Good luck with your decision making! |

I guess. I just hate that when I asked to be called last week I was assured that I was "front and center" for the SS sky dweller. Of course now, their company CEO's friend is getting it first. Fair is fair. First come first serve. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Find a new AD immediately.
Clearly you deserve the blue Sky Dweller and this absolutely unacceptable. Don't settle for whatever patronizingly peasantish gestures that they are throwing your way.... |

The fact you believed you were 'front and center' is worrying, there is always someone who's backside an AD will kiss more than yours or mine........I think I may have told him to put the Daytona where the sun doesn't shine, not a fan of liars.

Well this is a first. Somebody feels butt-hurt because they got a white Daytona 116500.

I think your AD is great. I have no issues with your story.

Nice getting the white Daytona but a company is only as good as their word.

If you don't want this Daytona. I will buy from them and in return, I'll treat you to a nice lunch!

How is it not ok? They give you one of the most sought after watches. You know they don't have to do anything and just make you wait right? Also SS Sky Dweller hype will die down and it won't be as collectible or desirable as daytona

I realize now that it's a good thing to get the white Daytona - but that is the exact sentiment I was feeling. If a company assures someone that they are first in line, then rightfully if they get the watch in, it should go to the person first in line. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Well, it's more of the principle behind it. I have the black version so maybe that's why I feel slightly biased towards the steel sky dweller even though the white is more desirable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Classic bait and switch. This is not available, so have this instead. And come back and spend more money later for what the consumer wanted in the first place.
Whether the story is legitimate or not, the fact of the matter is you wanted the SS SD and it is now no longer available. The bottom line, the AD failed to deliver as promised. Time to move on, just like an AD would do, if a consumer could not produce the funds to purchase a watch. It works both ways. Time to find a new AD. |

Yeah, I can see where you're coming from. People shouldn't just assume that throwing a white Daytona at someone will make up for their lack of integrity.

I know it's a bummer not getting the one you had your heart set on but man that white Daytona is amazing and I like it 100x over the sky dweller but it's good we all have choices and different tastes or we would only have 1 watch to choose from. My question is will they still keep you in your place for the sky dweller? I'm thinking if they do enjoy the amazing Daytona and if you don't want both flip it when your up for the sky dweller. You'll make a little profit for being patient. That will help cover the slydweller. I'm not normally and advocate of flipping but in your case I think it's fair.
