So I'm interested in buying a YM2 SS. Should I get the new 2017 10 anniversary edition with Mercedes hand or the old 2016 model? Not much difference besides the Mercedes hand and 12 and 6 clock. Any thoughts?

Only because I had one and regret selling it :( now when I look at the new model, it makes me miss my old one even more. I just feel it separated it from the rest of the sports line. But the flip side is, with the new Mercedes hands, it puts all sport models in uniform
To answer more direct and since the hands don’t change how the watch operates- I like the way the older one looks

Well the good thing is the YM II hasn't been that popular so many AD still has the 2016 model

Stay with steel, I’m so over two tone for anything lol. Steel holds better value. I always say I’m never selling but I eventually always do. I also say, im not buying anymore cars, I always still do argh

Same here. I think the best solution is to buy cars that hold value or limited edition. Like the GT3, 911R etc

It may be worth checking out this thread.

https://www.rolexforums.com/showthre...ghlight=116680

Personally, I prefer the blue hands of the previous model, but like the hour markers of the new model....so net net I'm indifferent between them, which is helpful because when I get one, I'll be happy to take whichever one on which I find the best deal on.

Wasn't aware it was a ten year anniversary model?

Shortlisted a YMII and lucky enough to wear a friends and glancing at it to check the time wasn't that easy, as you had to focus with all those hands

The YMII really pops with the blue bezel but I like a date on my watches and that was the main deal breaker for me

Don't like the mercedes hands as it looks a bit of a parts bin special to me, and loses the uniqueness of the previous model's hands that i favour

Enjoy finding what you like

Yeah I think Mercedes hand makes it even harder to tell time.

Rereading the poll from that post, I'm somewhat surprised that "I don't like the watch" almost got the highest number of votes. I think it's a striking watch

Yeah...I also think the YM II is very beautiful. Only if I had a blue and white yacht to pair it with, then it would be perfect!

I like the original hands because it makes reading the time easier (at least from pictures)

The old one get all the DNA of YMII, with chrono hands which like Daytona.

The new one with new hour marks make it more sporty look.

I choose the old one for its special design over the sporty family look.
