Thoughts on the 5711?

I've admired this watch from afar.

Any views (or pics) from owners would be much appreciated.

I'm under the impression that in the U.K. there is a waitlist of some time so I called an AD and asked to go on the list for a blue dial. The lady I spoke to said that Patek work slightly differently to Rolex and generally they find out in February what they are likely to get in that year. Can anyone confirm if that is correct?

I've bought various watches off the AD but not at that store so don't know anyone there. However the owner of the company supplied me their first white dial (hence why I'd like blue) 116500 so I'd like to think I'm in with a good chance. I'll be speaking to him in a few weeks as he's invited me to a Rolex event.

Love mine, availability from ADs in the UK and mainland Europe is extremely limited, though.

Good luck on getting one, AD's get 2 per year in average, Salons get more. Oh and very cool watch, if you like and can afford a 5712, have and love both, will be easier, but not super easy in Europe...

i came across two 5711R in austria. both are on hold (one by myself) but both are likely to released very soon. it is a nice watch but i found the dial underwhelming compared to the blue one.

I'd find out what the owner likes and take him some thoughtful gifts at the event, might help to grease the wheels.

I like the 5711 Stainless white dial almost as much as the blue dial, but to me (and maybe it is me), on the gold model I prefer the blue dial strongly. YMMV.

Full disclosure: I own neither but have been circling the SS 5711 like a predator.

Have to say the chocolate dial on the R is absolutely stunning and complements the rose gold perfectly. Of course the blue is also a perfect combo with SS.

The 5711 is almost universally liked on the forum, but getting one is quite difficult. You'll have to be patient if you want to buy new from an AD

For me, Patek is all about complications, so the 5711 is a miss. But if you really like it, ignore me!

Simple elegance. If you can grease up the owner it may work for your benefit.

To me, I really liked it before but now I think it's kindof boring particularly with the design and when I tried it on I wasn't particularly wowed by it.

I definitely would consider a Patek chrono calendar, that is a gorgeous piece with a bracelet to match

We often encounter a 5711 post every week and the replies are the same. It's the king of steel watches and if you could source one, it's fantastic. At watch event I was fortunate to try on a 5711 Blue Dial Tiffany Stamped and the bracelet feels similar to my 5167 rubber strap, it feels like you don't have anything on your wrist.

I have owned one. Bought it new from my local AD. Nice watch but not worth the price. Just my $.02.

Anyone have an opinion/view if there will ever be a white gold 5711? If so, what color dial?

Great and gorgeous watch, but just a little too simple for me.

Agree feels as comfy as my 5167R. Wow this one took a beating, rarely saw one beaten up to this point.

It's daily used by the owner. Lol which is bold since secondary market it's probably worth comparable to the 5711/R.

Even as daily, which is how I wear my watches, except when doing activities where the chances of hitting something are high, and my watches look pristine compared to that one, I guess he doesn't really care and doesn't mind it bumping into things...
