Wow, you are doing great at 81. My mother is 89 and wife's mother is 96, so people are living longer these days. I'm 66 and feel ancient.

So ever since Rolex watches have much impressed.
I remember him offering to get me new Rolex Oyster for £60. Just couldn't raise the money, it was quite a lot of money in those days. So In the mid 1960's I went skiing in Switzerland(lovely country, civilised people) bought a Certini for about £30 (worth now about £1000 I understand) which I then wore on & off for the next 40 years.
Recently I bought a new SubC with date, black. I alternate with the Exp 1, depending what I am doing. For me the SubC & Exp 1 are a perfect combination!
I do not like buying secondhand goods whether it is a motor or a watch etc for me it has got to be new!
Am clocking up the years now and just hope I have a few more years to go to continue to enjoy my Rolex(s)! Got to keep going!

I was 28 when I bought my first Rolex, the LVc. So far I've managed to pick one up every year since.

58 years old. I recently bought new a Datejust II. I've had an Omega Seamster for several years. Absolutely loving both watches. I'm not a rich guy, so this was a really big deal for me.
