Same thing happened to me once. I also didn't notice the damage until I had left my AD's shop. I was very surprised the AD staff member didn't tell me he bummed up the screw heads. I returned promptly to my AD and politely pointed out the damage and asked that the damaged screws be replaced (by a more experienced staff member). As luck would have it, the AD had a few spare screws available and the problem was quickly rectified. I find it's good to start with a polite conversation.

It's a dead easy job, how ad's can F***k the screws if they are using the correct screwdriver and not the screwdriver on a Swiss army knife is beyond me, you spend a lot of money on a Rolex and you expect it to be perfect when you leave the shop, and not have mangled screw heads. Take it back and insist on new replacements.

The AD will replace them free. Only thing you should be worried about is what you can't see. Like, when the AD screwed the screw back in, did it go in properly or did he mess up the threads inside the bracelet.

Hi guys.
Completely forgot to answer. Here are some photos. Some screws are "ok", but some are damaged. Even the removed ones are f*** up. It is bearable, but can't happen on a brand new watch. Contacted my AD and she ordered new links. Cheers

AD messed up the screws of my 116710BLNR
Agreed. Wouldn't accept that. New screws will take care of it. Get yourself a hollow ground 1.6mm screwdriver and replace them yourself.

The guy that did that is a butcher. He used the wrong size screw driver after 4 cups of truckers blend coffee. Absolutely must replace every screw. Thank goodness he didn't butcher up the link. I have taken the same screw out of a Rolex bracelet a dozen times over the years and the screw is still perfect after all those times.

The Butcher of Belgium, for sure. If it is an AD, you got to give them a chance to correct... if they mess it up more, contact the RSC, with pictures. Better yet, contact the RSC, send them pictures and ask for their advice how to correct.

I gained a ton of weight before I bought my rolexes so they fit without having to remove links. Beats damaged screws.

Or, in your case, just read the last post written before clicking the "reply" button

It is sometimes challenging to go through an entire thread before posting a reply, but often it removes the need to reply.

I specifically refused to have my SD43 sized when I collected it two weeks ago at the AD...
Reason 1 : I don't wear bracelets most of the time, I replace them with straps. Reason 2: they are not careful and I suspect some of them do it on purpose to subtract value from your watch if you were to flip it. This would also explain why they try to remove stickers (I didn't let them), price tag (they insisted and I didn't care so much), throw away the COSC green seal (I had to fight to have that one included in the set), keep the warranty card (not from personal experience) or make you sign an agreement not to sell your watch in the first year of ownership (not from personal experience). Maybe I'm paranoid but I won't let them touch my watches. Either I do it or the RSC does. If they insist, I'm prepared to cancel the purchase and walk. |
