9 Months Review of a Bluesy 116613LB
I'm in a bit of a dilemma in regards to this watch - I tried this on at various TD probably around 30-40 times over the course of 3 months before purchasing the watch. And it is an absolute knockout, still love the feeling every time I strap it on.
At the moment, I do wear this watch once a week on a Saturday, I haven't worn it at my new job at all yet and not sure I plan to. I work with engineers and certainly they are all understated in the watch game. Even our CEO wears an Apple watch so I can't really bring myself to wear the bluesy with its dash of yellow gold. Moreover, I'm contract staff, on an 18-month contract so I don't feel as stable as the other permanent staff. I often go travelling for pleasure, probably around 6 trips since owning the bluesy, haven't brought it along on any of them. So, I'm thinking should I sell and take a hit after 9 months owning this watch? I have a Piaget polo 45 which is my go-to and everyday piece. I do feel that owning the bluesy shows a sense of achievement and status to a certain extent but I often wear it even when I'm staying in at home for the whole day because I do genuinely love this watch. I have had my eye on the Master Geographic on a bracelet with JLC, also considered the blue YM1. Any thoughts appreciated |

You seem reluctant to commit to this watch, to embrace it and make it a regular piece in your rotation. I'm not saying flip it, but perhaps it was more the thrill of the chase.

I know the feeling. It sucks having to be that one watch guy in a crowd of Apple watch wearing people. I would suggest ADDING a more understated piece to the collection instead of selling the bluesy. You love the watch and that's what matters. Find something you can enjoy at work as well!

I think this is pretty normal. It's a flashier watch so I don't wear daily to work or on travels either.

All I know is this. I have a lot of nice watches. Nearly a dozen Rolex. I looked at the bluesy for years, the color mix is mesmerizing, then finally bought one new last year. The attention it brought was way beyond what I was comfortable with. I could wear a 30k AP or a white dd40, nobody says a word. One day with a bluesy, and I must have answered a question about it 3 times. I sold it.
She's a flashy beast. |

The Bluesy is gorgeous in every sense !!!
I own one as well ... I'd keep it and stay put... if you want to add a more understated watch I'd add maybe a SS GMT or other SS sports Rolex ... |

You gonna eat all that?
My bluesy will be with me forever. I to do not wear it everyday but there is something about that piece, classy, timeless and iconic. Now... Its up to you, be sure, I have sold pieces before that I came to REALLY regret. It does look great on your wrist! |

Sell it. It's a very common watch and it'll likely never be worth more than it is now You're wearing it once a week. It's too flashy for your work. It's a lot (for me) to park in a watch that you have misgivings over. Sell and buy something you really like.

I have the blue YM and not sure I would swap the Bluesy for one, unless you want to wear the Rolex everyday and you won't with the TT.

9 Months Review of a Bluesy 116613LB
I love the bluesy, but changed my mind as I was concerned that it was too flashy. Bought the DaytonaC instead

I do want to keep it but I think having this much money in a watch that you're only wearing once a week at most, it's just kind of sitting there and I am quite practical. In the sense that I want to get good use out of something and don't want to have it more as a trophy piece - ie. sitting in a cabinet being admired and not worn. |

Buy yourself an apple watch for work and wear the bluesy for dinners and weekends. If you like it why sell it at a loss? You are not spending big money to keep it and any depreciation should be offset by the joy of wearing it.

Whatever you do, do NOT sell that watch.
Maybe wearing right now isn't the right thing, but there will come a time... |

Keep the bluesy, you just have to know when and where to wear it. But I do like the blue yachty and that daytona too!

Just wear your Bluesy to work. It may invite some "hoohaah" in the office at the beginning but will soon get over it, or used to it.

I say wear it. No one will take notice except for other wis types. We pay way more attention than the apple crowd does. For them, it's functional. For us, it's a thing of mechanical and physical beauty. I mean how often do u check out another dudes drill? I work with a guy who wears a bluesy every day. It's a bit flash for our environment, but only me and a few fellow watch nerds take notice. Even tho it's "flash" it's still subdue. It's only flash cause I'm looking. Enjoy that blue beauty.
Another option, maybe buy an Everest blue rubber strap. I have one for my bluesy and love it. Subdues it a bit and makes it look sporty. Again, imho, on a blue rubber strap it won't scream Rolex to the masses like the bracelet will. Only other wis types will know. |

Then I'd wear it after and on weekends... The Bluesy was my daily for about a year until I got my GMT BLNR . Though I bought an all SS model I'm wearing daily ( I do travel nationwide ) the GMT function does come in quite handy ... yet still I think about my Bluesy quite often ... When I get home , I can't wait to put on the Bluesy and just enjoy it !!! Best of success on your decision... |

It's clearly you love the Bluesy, so don't sell it. The problem is you, that you don't enjoy it as you should, by not wearing it whenever you want. It is not a versatile piece, but you should wear it freely. Stop thinking of how others may react to it, you got it for your own pleasure. Owning a special item, in this case your Bluesy, in a sea of copy paste wireless connected people, should make you even more proud and eager to wear it, not hide it. So grow a pair of OO, and start enjoying this gorgeous watch!

I would say keep it imho |

Not sure if a YM is much less "noticeable"?
Anyway, I guess it comes down to how much you enjoy the watch when you wear it. I have a couple weekend watches that make me really happy when I wear them, so I'm not looking to flip. |

I'd wear it everyday. Who gives a stuff what watch the CEO wears. He won't be your CEO forever. Wouldn't it be great being able to look down at it during your work day?
