I can never understand anybody selling a watch because they have got attention over wearing it. Overthinking it,as someone said already, just wear it.

I know exactly what you mean.
I wear my EXII when I have meetings with my VP.
My advice:
Keep the Bluesy and buy a cheap(er) "under the radar" SS Rolex model for work.
(maybe a DJ or EXI-II/OP36....)
Good luck.

People who aren't into watches either care or know what it costs. Most will think it's a only "nice" 200 dollar watch at best. It's not like you are wearing a Richard Mille, pretty much all your peers can afford a Rolex if they prioritised getting one.
Just start using it as you daily, you bought it to enjoy it. Enjoy it as much as you possibly can

Keep the watch you clearly love it wear it when the opportunity arises and like a few have said pick up an under the radar piece like an AK or explorer or a Tudor which you will still derive much pleasure wearing but really won't be noticed buy anyone but a WIS

Is there not a SS model that grabs you? To me it sounds like you bought a watch you found beautiful, but doesn't fit you on a personal level (as in self conscious about wearing). I find many Rolex models stunning, but on a personal level don't make sense for me. Obviously it would not be ideal to take a hit and sell, but for me I'd prefer owning a watch I can have more use.

Sounds like you'd be self conscious about any Rolex in your work environment. Maybe get a simple JLC. However I'd keep the 116613 - your work situation may change someday and it is a nice watch.

Daytona is a good option, YM1 is another great option, but I think you should flip it for an SD4K or a SD43, great watches for everyday and not flashy at all.

Here is some advice from a long time(17yr) Bluesy owner. I purchased my TT Sub when I was a very young profesional. College educated (engineering degree) and a real mover in my industry at a young age. I owned my own business and worked in the music industry with some very affluent entertainers and industry people. My Rolex was a sign of confidence of who I was and I believe a asset. Personal style and image is a valuable tool and those that embrace this simple truth will be more comfortable in their own skin and professional world. I search out and hire confident people and demand confident leaders that can handle them self in any social or professional situation. Your watch should be a extension of your own style and attitude. If a watch makes you feel uncomfortable at any time, perhaps the watch isn't the correct one that is accurately reflecting your style and attitude.

You wear the watch, the watch doesn't wear you.

The yachtmaster I thought about and now more likely the new blue skydweller but I heard that may have a waiting list to rival the ceramic daytona.

So potentially a JLC now and then a skydweller later when it's readily available

Was thinking about this, like an Explorer 1 but by the time I get it, it's still a fair chunk of money and then the bluesy will just be sitting around. I know they are luxury watches, but I'm not sure I can stomach the luxury of a watch that I don't feel I can't wear more than 1/10 of my time

9 Months Review of a Bluesy 116613LB

Moreover, I'm contract staff, on an 18-month contract so I don't feel as stable as the other permanent staff.

I do feel that owning the bluesy shows a sense of achievement and status to a certain extent but I often wear it even when I'm staying in at home for the whole day because I do genuinely love this watch.

The gold looks great on you...

I'm confused though... you're contract staff and don't feel as stable but you want to show your sense of achievement... no offense but i think I'm missing something?

Not every watch is perfect for every occasion, but that is okay as each watch plays a part in a collection. A bluesy is the perfect mix of flash and class in my opinion. I wear my 16613 with a suit or a t-shirt and I think it's more versatile than you may feel it is. You will regret selling it for sure

If you don't have the guts to wear it, sell it. Buy something that you feel comfortable wearing and enjoying.

Looks like you have to please your boss/coworkers by what you wearing but not your skill?

Who care you wearing a TT gold watch? That means you spend money wisely and got good style and nice taste.

You should be the one convince them to own a Rolex!

Wear with confidence and introduce to your coworkers how good to own a Rolex!

At the end of day is about you and how you perceive things and thoughts!

Hope this help your perception!

Best regard!

Well, I've decided to sell it. Narrowed it down to 3 choices and started a new thread here: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=541001

I wear it to work i wear it to swim i wear it to the beaches i wear it to sleep and at home even going to the market... and i dun wear it oversea due to security issues. My Boss wearing a seiko and out of 60 staffs we have only 3 including me whom are in watches like Rolex and i am the only 1 wearing to work.... who cares. U bought the watch to wear and not to keep it in the safe.... u wear the watch not the other way round... i did get compliments for the watch and i just share my passion for mechanical watches.

Another reason why I don't wear YG or TT watches. Would suggest any SS sports watch for your situation. A Sea Dweller SD43 or SD4K might work for you depending on your wrist size.

Still have my bluesy, look how great it looks under boutique lighting compared to the AP Dual time. I was thinking I could actually keep the bluesy for a year or 2 and still sell it for the same price if I sold it tomorrow

Yes, for the love of God please keep it. It is a wonderful watch and that 18 month contract will be over before you know it. The next contract may be with a bunch of watch nuts like us.
