Thanks for sharing! Indeed, the RG Daytona looks great on your wife, nice rock too! Sounds like a great AD to visit if I'm ever out that way on a trip. Your Sub LVc looks great at the beach and I think the perfect summer watch. Cheers!

Thank you. We got married with a $400 ring back in the college says.

This ring was 10 year anniversary gift, I think.

We are truly blessed to even be wearing 'a' Rolex, never mind thinking about any RG Daytonas.

I wish I was local. I live about 200 miles south of Carmel on the California Coast.

Yes, the 2009 event was pretty epic. https://www.minus4plus6.com/GTG-Carmel.php The Bonifas' / Fourtané Car Week events since then are based on our 2009 event. Essentially, I wanted to attend a GTG but I live too far from the Bay Area & LA so I promoted my own, and Fourtané wanted to hold a GTG-like event but they had not promoted one before and that's how the partnership started.

Pulling off the 2009 event required some stealth navigation in an invisible mine field within the watch industry and Internet foura. Promoting the event on web foura (fourms?) was problematic as they won't help promote events that involve an AD (other than our beloved TRF). Also, we had to clear it with the Rolex mother ship as it was not an "official" Rolex event. We learned of that after we started promoting.

Since then Fourtané has been able to hold this private event during Rolex sponsored Car Week, and that the event is now by invitation only and promotion is exclusively done by Fourtané. Don't fret about getting an invitation. Getting an invitation is easy by calling them

Thanks for the mention and that was a little bit of the back-story. I had to edit this down to keep it family friendly within the watch industry. Catch me at the event and I'll share other mine-field stories offline.

~ Sheldon

That is a username I remember from motorcycling world.

No I didn't see that specific one there. Two kids and wife and not enough time to drool.

Thanks for the back story. These get together events are usually a lot harder to put together than most realize.

Thanks likewise for the details Sheldon. Apologies re the assumption you were a local, but at least I got the state right.

I recall seeing postings on your GTG around the time i joined TRF / got into Rolex. Also just realized I misspelled Fourtane.

Perhaps I will call the shop and see when / if they are having the GTG something this year...The car week is August 14-20. I suppose the event is on the preceding or following weekend?

I literally just started buttering up my spouse for a hall pass one of those weekends. We have in-laws coming later that month - so she owes me.

The Fourtané event is typically the Saturday evening during Car Week.

What happened to the Carmel Rolex AD, Hesselbein's? I purchased from them a while back and it appears they may have lost their AD status?

Both of the above match my impression from my short visit. Good to see ADs with good standing amongst their customers. I must say, my local AD (Davidson Licht) have also been equally nice to me on my few purchases there, so for my AD purposes I will probably stay local and loyal to them.
