You can pretty much hit anything in the Rolex range with that budget.
I'd go 116618LN, green GMT, then RG olive DD or Platona.

One watch to rule them all
Even though I'm a Rolex fan and have SD4K, BLNR, and DaytonaC, at that price range I would not go for Rolex. I don't think you receive good value at that price range for a Rolex because then it's all the same complication but in PM.
My opinion, at that price range I'm getting a Patek 5524 pilot or an A Lange & Sohn 1815 chrono. $47k and $50k, respectively :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

In all seriousness, I find the Pt. Daytona to be a great everyday watch, which is important in a one-and-only decision. Looks great with jeans, smart casual or a suit. Robust enough and with metal bracelet, so suitable for all activities.
I think the above ALS/PP suggestions are great ones in that they are very fine watches, and perhaps the finishing and handmade nature of them is unique, but they are tough to wear every day in every situation. For me, that was the difference.

18K White Gold Pepsi SD43 Cover all my bases with two watches, and as I'd go through David SW for the Pepsi, I'd have about $10K left to do what ever the hell I wanted with, like say buy a vintage 5513 or something. Can't live with just one, and I've tried. Cheers, Joe |

My answer to this type of question is a moving target. Right now my choice would be the WG Daytona with blue dial.

Even low it's on the lower range (in regards to the price you set) I would still get the smurf

This is a tough one -- right now probably blro or aquanaut with some cash left over (I know I'd never be "done")

I was going to say the PP world timer or maybe a fancy ROO but if you really only have one watch it needs to be durable, right? I'd worry that the Patek would need servicing every so often and the AP would scratch easily, so for me it's also the Platona. The thing just looks great with jeans or a suit, and there really nothing like Rolex for consistency and durability. So put me down please for a Platona!

Probably a white good sub or Platona but for a 50k budget I'd much much rather have 2 or three watches.
