Rolex 19018 OysterQuartz
Question for the watch group.
I am looking at a 1986 Rolex 19018 OsyterQuartz. Condition appears to be good. Price is reasonable. Seller is reputable with many buyers from many nations and excellent reviews. The crown is not original replaced with the 2-dot type. BUT, the beveled edge with which the Rolex 19018 is well known for seems to be absent. From the many pictures I got from the seller it does not appear to be polished off. I spent considerable time on the net browsing 19018 pictures. I noticed on several newer (newer being mid 80s into 90s) some 19018 models appeared to have no case/bracelet edge bevel. Is there someone that can voice some knowledge on this matter. Rolex watches can be ordered with many personal changes. Or did later 19018 models come with an option etc. Attached some pictures |

You are correct. The 19018 has been manufactured with two different cases. Early cases have the chamfers on the edge of the case and also on the sides of the links on the bracelet. I don't know when they changed over though. Looks like a nice watch.
