Why won't Tudor sell their 76200 & 76214 Date+Days in North America?
I believe that Rolex knows it will cut into their Day-Date sales big time. Anyone have their theory.

I think Rolex would be more likely to believe it would cut into their Datejust sales. I can't imagine many prospective DD buyers changing course and electing to purchase a $2k Tudor.

Buyers would love to see a SS Day-Date at a fraction of the cost of a current one.

That may be true, but if you're in the market for a DD you're not looking to buy SS. I can definitely see a prospective SS DJ buyer saying "well this one has the day too AND it's thousands less" but I can't see someone who is shopping for a full PM piece saying "well I'll just buy this one it has the same complications and is only two grand."

Why won't Tudor sell their 76200 & 76214 Date+Days in North America?
I don’t think so because the Tudor Glamour is a Date+Day or at least has the option.
I was told the reason Tudor Prince Date and Date+Day were discontinued in North American markets is simply because they weren’t selling. The preference in NA has always been for sport style watches and as this trend hasn’t changed, Tudor will likely be discontinuing their current dressy references like the glamour, classic, 1926, and style from NA markets. |
