Anyone...
...ever trade their Black dial DSSD for the D-Blue and regret it? And no, I don't want both.

I would think the Cameron is far more desirable. The dial adds a lot of pop to the watch my view.

No, because I would regret it! I like the blue, but black divers are the classic and I wouldn’t want the blue as my only.

I’ve done it, zero regrets. There’s plenty of black dial watches but the D-Blue dial is one of a kind really.

I had the black since it first came out but as soon as the JC was released in 2014, I sold the black, got the JC and absolutely ZERO regrets.
I sold the 116660 when the 126660 was released and couldn't be happier. It's my most loved watch. |

I did it and never thought twice about it. The black was just, blah. The JC kicks it up to a totally different level.

I thought about adding the DSSD-Blue a while back when my AD had one in the case...it honestly does nothing for me and seems a bit too “gimmicky”....I prefer the standard dial setup. I couldn’t care less about “desirability”.

I did this trade a couple years ago...never regretted it for a second. In reality, in a lot of lighting situations, normal to low light, nighttime, etc...vs being in bright light or direct sunlight, the dial can look very dark anyway. But when the blue is obvious...it’s a wondering thing! (IMO)

You’d need to wear it for a few in different lighting situations if possible to form your own opinion, but....I absolutely think it’s the best of both worlds!

The only thing I find "gimmicky" about the D-Blue is when people call it the JC, because it's NOT a JC, and I couldn't care less about JC for that matter. I don't want, nor would I ever buy anything named after anyone. Otherwise I don't find it "gimmicky" and I also couldn't career less about it's desirability either.

Understand that sentiment completely. I’ve just truly never been a fan of the dial....it’s grown on me - as the RG YM on the OyeterFlex has — and have been really close to adding them - but have just decided against. I have to really want a watch to add it. I’m ‘anti-hype’ lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I never gave the black dial a thought. When I saw the JC I had to have it. I am happy with the first generation and don't intend to trade for the newer one.

The Deep Blue speaks for a broader public, especially the latest 126660.
I like it but like my black dial 116660 DSSD more. This first series is truly the last model Rolex made with function over form in mind. It's clumsy, looks unbalanced from certain angles but what a marvel of engineering. The new 126660 Deep Blue is just a piece of perfect jewellery, but lacks the character of the previous model. Regardless, it's stunningly beautiful

Classic Black Not fond of the blue and black dial especially with the green lettering .If it was all blue ,yip, would have liked that .
The market prefers the JC,popular vote would go that way . |

I did it with no regrets, black 116660 to JC 126660, Way more interesting dial and the history of James Camerons deepsea challenger dive that is associated with it.
I agree with others that black is the classic dive watch, but if you wanted it to look classic would you be buying DSSD anyway. SD43 is what I wear for the classic look, especially with the red line.

Didn’t trade for this D-Blue, but would take the JC over black for sure.

Nothing against the James Cameron, but I don't think that "blah" is the right word for any Rolex black dial.
