I had a 16570 and loved it, but it was just a touch too small and wore too small for my tastes. GREAT watch, though.

Sold it for a YM

Have had the 216570 polar for 5 or so years and it’s a great watch. Personally like the white over black.

Unless you tried the new one on and liked it better, I would hold off. The two are VERY different.

I would not make that trade, because I think the orange text and hand on the current Exp II is hideous. But you need to go with your gut.

I just picked up an Explorer II and had (and still have) the 16570 v 216570 debate. I ended up settling on the black-dial 16570 (Y serial). I just prefer the size and the look (although I prefer the look of the 216570 polar over the 16570 polar).

I like the better readability and the orange gmt hand of the 216570, but I couldn’t trade my black 16570 for the 216570. I love the deep black of my 16570 and I found the black of the new one is just not as nice. I’d go to a store and compare side by side to get an answer.

The 16570 is great for a every day watch. Throughout my life collecting watches I can say hands down it’s the most comfy watch I’ve ever owned.

They are both fantastic watches and there isn’t a wrong choice. The only thing I’d be wary of is that they aren’t making anymore 5 digit models.
