In what way is the new Air King a tribute to aviation?

From the Rolex website: "the Air-King perpetuates the aeronautical heritage of the original Rolex Oyster"

The only significant things about the watch are the green font and seconds hand and the cartoonish yellow logo.

I'm no aviation buff, but I always took that line to mean it was reminiscent (albeit vaguely) to an airspeed indicator...
