How can I not feel bored with my GMT LN after seeing the new pepsi?
The LN is my only watch and worn every day, purchased new a few months ago. I like the watch and the GMT function but I sometimes feel the appearance is a little dull and too corporate.
Now compared to the new pepsi, despite the ceramic colors more closely resembling fruit flavored candy rather than a traditional bezel, seems so much more exciting to me. If the choice was given to me I would definitely have chosen the pepsi despite its colors lacking the greatness of the pre-ceramic models. Maybe my real problem is that there is such a lack of variation in a collection of just one watch despite me being such a watch enthusiast? |

Sounds like you need to add a little pop of color to your collection. I wouldn’t touch your GMT but build around it.

I think that if you flipped the LN for the Pepsi, eventually you’d find that you miss the simple look of the LN. I own an LN and a Datejust on jubilee and fluted bezel and it’s nice to be able to switch between the two watches because they have such different “personalities”.

The LN and BLRO have different personalities, but the LN is a beauty in itself too.
Maybe try adding more color to the collection, or adding the BLRO without subtracting the LN. Nothing wrong with having two GMTs! |

I agree. I would not ditch the LN, but add around it as suggested. I think the LN is rather underappreciated.

I have an LN and a few times my AD has tried to get me to trade it toward a BLNR, but I just can’t do it.
Is it “plain” vs these other GMTs? You bet. But it is a simple elegance and I find that I wear it more than almost all my others as it goes with almost everything. You might be attracted to the Pepsi, but you’ll miss the versatility of the LN once it’s gone, mark my words. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I personally find the black GMT with green hand nicer than all these new Coke, Pepsi, Batman and what have you.

Because you actually have your GMT and can wear and enjoy it as opposed to the pepsi which you may or may not have an opportunity to buy and wear in the next year or two, that's why

I hear you OP - I had the LN for a year as my one and only watch and as nice as it is, it gets boring. Flipping for a Pepsi as your one and only will only give you the same feeling after a while. Better off just adding to your collection with another watch.

Here are my thoughts...
I’m fortunate enough to have 4 16710’s in my collection and a LN 116710 ceramic. The Pepsi 16710 was my first Rolex. Loved it. However, it rapidly dawned on me that I tired of wearing a watch with such vibrant colours and so I bought 16710 LN. This became the watch I wore the most. All the benefits of the classic 16710 as well as a very classic understated look. I eventually added a couple of 16710 Cokes to the collection and the coke became my favourite colour combo of the lot BUT I still wore the 16710 LN the most. Eventually I bought a 116710 LN which has become my daily beater. The LN regardless of 5 or 6 digit reference is a classic watch. It’s not a boring watch because it lacks a bit of colour. In fact, from my experience above, one tires of colour quicker than you think when it comes to GMT’s This is why I found myself more drawin to the everrose TT GMT just released more than I do the SS Pepsi. I know if I bought that SS Pepsi, I would eventually be wearing my LN more. |

Regarding the colours you are on the wrong path stating that they don't match the pre ceramic. In fact they match quite nicely with the original pre aluminium bakelite inserts. It's only later that the bright red and blue was introduced.

I like the LN and will have to wait and see on the SS Pepsi. I would consider adding a second before I traded.

The LN GMT is a really nice watch and i prefer it over the blue/red pepsi bezel in Ceramic.
But I would not have buyer's remorse. If you feel some type of way about it - buy a green everest deployant strap or mix it up by putting the watch on a nato strap. Or torture yourself for 4 years while you wait to buy a pepsi off the grey market from someone who bought it in 2018 and flipped it 2 years later. |

I appreciate the advice and personal experiences you guys have shared, I do like the watch and as some have pointed out a pepsi may not be a appropriate as an only watch due to the strong colors. I will keep the LN as it would always be a valuable part of a collection in the future despite my slight feelings of boredom now.

The next step from an LN is the BLNR.
The ceramic LN is a fantastic piece! Replacing it with a Pepsi is a bridge too far. If you're a "one watch" guy I'd definitely go for BLNR instead of Pepsi. If you're a collector just add something more colorful and keep the LN. |

The new, shiny object usually offers allure of some sort. But not everything that glitters is gold, and newer is not necessarily better.

Wear a red and blue friendship bracelet on the same wrist.
Problem solved. Or, flip the LN and add another $5k and wait 3-6 or as we say in Wawa, an 'AD Stretch'. Snap! But by then it'll be $2k more and the AD won't honor the.... You know what, forget it. Buy a Moped and start drinking. |

Keep the LN and add a 16710 BLRO and snag the coke bezel and jubilee and NATO. If done, you’d have 6 options with the 16710 alone. No other Rolex allows you to have 6 separate looks...goodbye boredom.
P.S. Add the black bezel to the 16710, you’d then have 9 watch options from a single Rolex. The 16710, in my humble opinion is the ultimate frugal man’s Rolex.

I have the LN and have no intentions of ever parting with it, it's a classic. I would build a collection around it. Not bored at all.
