Probably the 16570 if it had a tritium dial. I'm a sucker for tritium dials, and I also prefer the proportions of the 36mm Explorers to the 39mm versions.

I have had both. The 16570 BD and the 214270 MK II.
Love both of them. I am often really struggling which one to choose.

So in an ideal world - get both. They are so classy, robust, versatile and mostly under the radar which cannot be said for the other "usual suspects" from Geneva.

No.

Exp 2 is ok.

Still not as good as the standard GMT.

But the EXP 1--well that's basically on the AirKing level.

I replaced my 16570 polar with a 216570 polar. Glad I did. A lot more legible for my aging eyes.

I was just thinking I might have to do the same swap in a few years, for the same reason.

I have the newer explorer and explorer 2 (216570 black dial). Love them both. You probably need at least a 6.75 inch wrist for the 42mm explorer 2 to look proportional on the wrist. Lots of love for the polar dial, but I dig the black dialon the explorer 2. I think it appears just a little smaller. These are the only two models in the current Rolex lineup that I’m drawn to. They are each over engineered and understated in appearance, two qualities that I’m drawn to. The new bracelets are significantly better than older models. I think these will stand up well to the test of time.

I love both and wear them regularly, although sometimes it's a real struggle to choose the one, so on business or trips abroad I tend to go EXPII with the 2nd timezone......
definitely keep the Polar and maybe add an 114270 or another 16570 black?
Like Tony, I own both watches and are still using these more than the BLNR or GMT 16710.

Yes. I'm seeing more and more Polar ExpII's pop up, and fewer 214270's.

I would, but wouldn't blame you id you didn't. Both are great watches. I really like the simplicity of the Ex1 though.

If I already own the 16570 then no, but if I were to choose one to purchase, I’d choose the explorer 1

The polar is such a great watch. I wouldn’t sell it for the explorer. I wear the explorer myself. I love it. But still, the polar is special and if I ever add another Rolex, the polar would probably be it.

Keep the 16570. It makes a better companion piece to the 16234.

I would, love the Exp I, perfectly simple, under the radar with great legibility; but have to admit, the Exp II plays well in the current Polar version with a little orange, feels the most young and fun in the line up. I could easily see the 2 in a collection. Not so much a fan of the older serial.

The Explorer ii ....absolutely no question about it.
Beautiful, easy to read and modern.
In the words of my son, "the 270 looks like a grandpa watch".

I prefer the older version. I like bigger watches but the proportions and GMT hand on the old version look better
