Daytona feels so small

Just got my Daytona C black face, having a hard time getting over the size, I’m sure it has something to do with my previous everyday watch for the past 10 years was a 45.5 planet ocean.

I got super lucky to get this Daytona and it’s a watch I’ve wanted for years. I’m going to give it some.

Thanks and merry Christmas!

No way. Totally normal. I’ve bought and sold countless Daytona’s because they never feel as good as subs to me.

Of course switching 45.5mm to 40mm is noticeable. Wear Daytona for a week and switch it back to PO and see how it feels.

Yep I felt exactly the same way when I tried a Daytona.

Felt way smaller than a ceramic sub. I didnt like it a single bit. Never been a fan of the Daytona since.

I’d never wear a watch over 40 mm, personally. To me, the Daytona is perfectly sized.

It’s a great watch and IMO the perfect sized watch. Wear it every day for 1 week and you might think your 45mm watch is way too big.

Does the 40m sub and GMT wear quite a bit larger? At a loss of what to do since the Daytona was always my end goal.

Most comfortable Rolex I've ever had on. Small feel, large presence. Extremely comfortable. Perfect imho

If wears a little larger if you wear it a little loose or open the extension clasp

The 4.5 PO is a beast. The Daytona is more refined elegant watch.

That transition is too huge, buy a 41/2mm cheap watch to wear for a half day before you switch if you keep the PO, otherwise after a couple of weeks you will adjust to the D.

Yes, What an odd thing to say. But I'm sure there's a logical explanation. I just genuinely can't think of why one would buy countless Daytonas that are the same too small of a size.

Same here. +1. People claim it is 39.5 etc but does not wear like one. Wears more like 38.5. Odd thing is they advertise Daytona as 40mm. I would rather them put real size in specs. I do think the ceramic at least looks little larger than wg or old stainless versions.

I own a Daytona and afte wearing my 45mm Panerai, it does feel so small. Wear it for a week or so and you'll learn to love it. They do look so great in the pics and wear smaller on your wrist after seeing all of the close up magnified photos.

The Daytona does not wear small at all. It wears exactly what it is. The SS is a 38.66mm watch, the PM models are 39.66mm (aside from full
Yelllow Gold on bracelet).

It's a tad small, but has made me appreciate a smaller and more comfortable watch. I love the profile and the way it hugs my wrist.

The SS is 38.66mm the WG is 39.66 so the ceramic SS doesn’t look bigger than WG at all, I’ve owned all varieties

Give it some time. If you come around to the size, you’ll be glad you did. But if you determine it is too small, you can sell it knowing you gave it a fair shake. But if you sell it quickly you might regret it — and likely won’t have the chance to acquire at MSRP again.

I would definitely consider keeping it for awhile. Coming down in size is a transition and for me, seeing zillions of pictures with close ups of the dials etc. make it larger in my mind in general. Even receiving a watch can be a letdown after the hunt - considerations, research, hearing from owners etc and realizing it is just a watch. Once it goes on the wrist, the owner's journey begins and it should ultimately be more satisfying. Holy shit, I just described my entire dating life into marriage. God, this place is healing. :) Merry Xmas
