That is just ridiculous.

Call and speak to the owner and take your business elsewhere. Period.

It is TRULY sad to hear more and more of these instances — and I suspect that overtime the ADs are just hurting themselves.

You’re probably right. The more I think about it.

Honestly - I just don’t even like hearing it — as long as I’ve collected watches I’ve never seen it like this....just sad.

I think you missed my point. So many things wrong with this story, as in, things that undermine its veracity.

Most seem willing to buy it, hook, line, and sinker, though.

Three year wait? I remember when the BLNR was sitting in cases 3 years ago, I know because that’s how I bought it. The Hulk is not that serious of a watch to warrant 4 additional time pieces. Also, i dont think the situation was that dire that your wife had to sat in the car sobbing. To each their own, pay a couple grand more and pick one up from a TS here.

im not 100% sure, but what i dont like is all the AD rants and if half of them are exaggerated and 20% are just made up then its really only 30% that are actually true.

Its hard to sift through all that and automatically everyone believes them without question and that is partially because of the untrue/exaggerated stuff they have also been reading, thinking its totally legitimate.

As pointed out a lot of what the op states doesn't make any sense.

I agree with you, story sounds plausible, but some of the details might be exaggerated.

We have a section here for who’s who and bad ad!

I suggest a section to post such horrible experience and disclose the name of the AD to uncover their ugly doing and warn others!

When ADs that intend to do that get word of such section they might behave better!

I'm not sure which part is more ridiculous...the actions of the AD or the OP for waiting 3 years to buy a watch that could have been bought new under retail until 6 months ago.

If this is true then it’s absurd how the AD is operating. Although, I’m skeptical about some of the detail eg 4 watches, 3 year wait etc. I’m not sure the Green Sub is that elusive to warrant those conditions......

Wow, this is sad! Unfortunately in today's SS Rolex market, I'm not totally surprised to hear something like this. Lots of unethical business practices out there for things that are in high demand. Truly a bad AD though as this should have been disclosed to you when you got on the list, or at the very least when they made the call to you before you went to pick it up!

I agree with others here and you should see about talking with the owner. If no solution there, I'd definitely report it to Rolex. This AD wasted 3 years of yours and your wife's time!!

If no solution can be worked out with the AD, I agree that you should name them here! That way we can all make sure to avoid them. They will lose much more business in the end, compared to the bundled items they are forcing you to buy!

Forget that it would suck if ADs are doing that, but it’s just bad business. A business would not bring you in for the purchase of a single watch and then say you have to purchase 4 more. What if i drove 2 hours to get there? That business would be ripped apart instantly on google, yelp, facebook, instagram, i would call the local newspaper too!

And why isn’t the AD named yet?

as long as 3 years ago?? the Hulk was in display cases. According to Bhindi (an AD in SoCal) they had a number in stock at one time.

I'm with tyler... this story is fishy. Three years ago I was seeing Hulks in AD cases all the time. Certainly not 3 years of waiting? I don't know why anyone would make up a story like this, but I agree it feels made up.

Very strange story, how do they even dare bring that up like ‘oh by the way you need to buy other 4 watches first’ and then give you another week to pay like a mafia debt collector.

"had to either buy some jewelry or four other watches before I could buy the submariner" . . .

This entire story to me sounds like nothing more than a huge made up load of heifer hooey.

Is it me or has there been an uptick in fake posts lately? I think there is another fake thread with a Daytona still going.

If this is true THAT is why this current state of affairs cannot continue.

Thats an utter rubbish scenario and I would be put of Rolex forever if this was my first ever experience. Not being overly blunt but that is fucked up.

I popped into an AD on Monday and were laughing over the calls he was getting on the Pepsi. He stated calls have slowed on the Daytona pretty severely but enough of a waiting list. Hulk could be had in 6-12 weeks as they get them on a frequent enough basis with relatively low explicit demand.

I joined this thread late, page three. That said......

This thread is USELESS unless we know who you are talking about. Is this AD in St. Louis or Cairo?
