Man that's tough. You're old set was badass, but your new set is badass. Either way would work for me. Great place to be.

6 digit is more practical and robust. Rolex introduces new versions as upgrades, with new and improved technology. As I wear my watch all day and night, the 6 digit wins hands down.

Sweet upgrade I love the pepsi and can't wait to get mine. I think you might the right move because the 6 digits are a different beast

You should’ve kept the Sea-Dweller but nice upgrade in the Pepsi.

Nicely done OP.

The bracelet quality of the 6-digit references is far superior which is the big differentiator it their favour. I’ve always preferred the 6-digits. But...

Lately I’ve started to change my mind on some of the models. I’m sad that the dials are likely to remain pristine, and the bezels won’t fade or get scratched up, and the dial markers will lose their glow but probably won’t go yellow. In thirty years time I want my Sea Dweller to have aged with me, and I’m not convinced the 6-digits are going to.

I love the 5 digit references, and if were a collector, and were keeping my watches in a safe and every now and then take them out and admire them, that's the direction I would go.

However, I wear my watches, and the 5 digit bracelets/clasps are deal breakers. More permanent links equals less adjustability and less chance of centering the clasp, and while we're talking about clasps, there's really no comparison between either the glide lock or the easy link and the tuna can. So...6 digit for me.

I had a beautiful 14060 2 liner which I swore was a keeper untill I got my hands on the new ceramic non date. The ceramic came in and the 2 liner went out.
The ceramic is the complete Rolex with all its wonderful upgrades. The 14060 is also superb but between both the ceramic is in a different league.

I like the charm of the 5 digits, but the quality of the 6 digits just blows them away. Love the new bracelets and ceramic bezels. For the more "tooly" watches I go for Tudor now with the aluminum bezels. For Rolex I want the modern 6 digit

I have both 5 & 6 digits. They are both great. If had to choose one i would go 14060 and 16710. 116600 is the one which covers the both.

Whilst I can certainly appreciate the newer 6-digit Subs with their better bracelets, superb glide-lock and lume that actually works I could never get rid of my old 14060...too many memories, good and bad, attached to it. And I like the old jingly-jangly Oyster! But the lume is all but dead

Six digit as Rolex added more daily beater robustness.

Your investment, your call. Congrats on finding your sweet spot.

I still prefer 5 digits, the 6 digits leave me cold.

Both please. No doubt 6 digit improvements are superior but I've got to have my 5 dgt. Sub and Gmt as well as the newer ones. Any 5 dgts. under 40mm are a pass for me although my wife rocks her 16030.
