It used to be that no one cared until 2 co-workers noticed my Kermit and BLNR on two separate occasions this past week.

Does anyone notice your watch?

Love that.

The Z Blue Milgauss is without a doubt the most commented on Rolex I have ever owned.

My Patek 5124G has gotten many comments about how beautiful it is.
What do people say about the milgauss??

Commenting: On vacation a lot. Walking around the city no, only in watch stores.

Noticing: A lot more than above. I get glances at the watch then at me for sizing up.

It's ridiculous to think people don't notice shiny Rolexes on our wrists.

I’ve seen people trying to figure out what my Explorer 214270 is. They do the same with my poler 16570.

Only people who have noticed and commented on my WG black dial GMT “in the wild” are friends and colleagues who are into watches. I think all of them thought it was stainless steel. Only people who commented and identified it as white gold were people who worked in watch stores.

Outside of work, where the guys I see daily wear: SS Daytona (or Platona (occasionally)), full Everose Daytona, Everose Daytona w/leather strap, Hulk, vintage Cartier Santos, Omega Planet Ocean 600, and a Casio, only a couple of times a year (usually someone wearing a nice watch) does anyone notice my watch.

Only exception is my Reverso, which often gets noticed if I flip it conspicuously (deliberately), but otherwise that goes unnoticed, too- which is fine with me. I wear my watches for my enjoyment.

Yes. Quite often.

I occasionally get compliments. Typically other WIS.

Good convos with fellow enthusiasts.

I rarely start watch convos with strangers, unless it’s something extraordinary the person is wearing.

I heartily concur. I really gotta pick up a Z-Blue. It's a hell of a reference!

I sometimes get comments on how my Panerai watches look cool. Not recognition of what they are though.... which I actually like. Non "watch people" finding my watch unique and aesthetically pleasing but not seeing it and thinking "luxury product". I think apart from that, my chiropractor has recognized my DSSD and IWC BP for what they are. I could tell he was interested so I offered them over so he could have a good look. He was appreciative and we talked watches for a bit both times. He's interested in a nice watch but hasn't decided on one yet....I think he's going to get a Rolex.

I've actually had a few compliments on my Casio Databank and Seiko Orange Monster but never on my other watches. Prefer it that way! I wear them for me. Especially the Databank! Haha, i wear that for the 7 year old me that really wanted it and never got one.

Yeah, other watch people comment on my Pelagos, saying what a cool watch and rare sight it is to see in the wild. Those very same people will glance at my Rolex watches but say nothing at all.

Strippers see the Rolex and warm up to me, see the Tudor and ask if it's a Rolex.

Waiters, bank clerks, lawyers all glance at whatever is on the wrist if it's not another smartwatch.

General population don't notice unless it's gold or has diamonds on it.

I've NEVER had anyone notice a rolex on my wrist, at least not that they mentioned... maybe once or twice I thought someone recognized my DJ but said nothing

Watches I have had recognized and commented on many many times though...

-omega speedmaster X33
-Bulova accutron spaceview
-1974 omega connie time computer LED
-1960 omega connie piepan
-omega seamaster pro 2254.50
-heuer autavia
-G-shock 5600C

Go figure.

I can figure! Some people see Rolex and make judgments about the owner and don't want to give the satisfaction of acknowledging your "status". People might be more comfortable discussing the non-Rolex.

Other people wearing fine pieces will trade glances with me occasionally. Say someone is wearing a GMT and I’m wearing my explorer. It’s actually been a great way to meet other collectors, just randomly.

As for the average person, I’ve had them glance at my watch when passing. It’s very rare that someone says something. Like I said above, it’s usually people who are also wearing nice pieces that comment. People who know I collect watches though, say people I work with, will often ask me “which one is that?”

The question that I always hate getting, though, is the “what is that one worth?“ ugh.

The DSSD catches all kinds of attention. On NYE, a guy at a party walked over and asked "is that a Rolex"? Then said he'd never spend 20k on a watch!

No one. And if I tell them how much the watch cost, most will say I’m an idiot.

Very rare. A young man admired my Rolex Explorer 2 in a mall in Scottsdale, AZ. He was wearing an Omega Railmaster. That’s about it in 20 years of collecting high end watches.

Yeah, someone notices my watches all the time — me. I’m the only one that ever notices. It doesn’t matter if it’s a Rolex, JLC, Omega, or a vintage Heuer Autavia or Universal Geneve chrono, no one ever looks at them or says a thing. I on the other hand, gaze at them all day. And I’m fine with that. After all I got them for myself.

I buy the watches for myself and i prefer people not to notice. As long as I enjoy them, that's all the matters.

Out of my 4 Rolex's I had a girl compliment on my white dial OP39 once. I like it this way because I buy and wear my watches for myself, not others.

I have had only one comment on my 114060. I’ve had numerous on my daily beater G-Shock and even more on my Breitling Navitimer Rattrapante.
