Better daily? 214270EXPI vs 126710BLRO

Hey guys. Just wanted to hear ur thoughts

Been using my Pepsi as a daily watch since I got it in July. Every single day during work shower sleep swim etc

Just picked up an explorer I. I really really really love this watch. I still prefer the BLRO aesthetic by a small margin

What do you guys think is the best daily piece? I purchased the explorer because I’ve always wanted one and I want to take it to Europe / Basel with me to be a bit more understated and less of a target

Cheers

That’s a tough call. I have the Explorer and absolutely love it. For me it’s my dedicated weekend watch... the date on my Submariner is needed throughout the week. But it was my first Rolex and can absolutely serve anyone as a daily watch. You can’t go wrong either way.

Great pictures as well!

Date + two timezone option.

Pepsi > Ex1 all day.

Two classic references for sure, however, my choice would be the GMT as it has the date and two timezones (very useful if you travel or work/correspond with people in other timezones) as others have mentioned. I too think if the explorer as the perfect weekend watch. Casual, simple dial, no date and goes with anything.

The GMT makes a better travel watch by a long shot. That would be my choice.

Enjoy your trip!

I think it really depends on what you do during an average day. For me, the Explorer would be a better daily.

Functionality it's probably the GMT.

But for everyday use that doesn't require much effort, classic time-only piece, it's hard not to look upon the Explorer as "the piece."

I use the Explorer as my daily and I have to admit it will probably be the last watch I would sell even though I own a Daytona and GMT.

I think the Explorer really is more subtle than the Pepsi

By a large margin

It depends what you work in, and what you do, but I would daily either if you’re not in a particularly unsafe area

But for travel, I would probably use the explorer

To me the BLRO is more functional and a better looking watch. The Explorer is a great compliment to it though. Why not just rotate?

Nice to share the wrist time between both.

No need to limit yourself to just one daily wearer - enjoy them equally

If i had to choose 1 watch to wear most of the time then i'd choose the Explorer as i'd prefer something that attracts less attention. To me the Explorer achieves that.
But then it depends what you do in your day and who with!

BLRO GMT for me. I wear it most and give some time to my SubCND (especially if I'm working around the yard)

I love the pepsi. The jubilee and red/blue makes it one of my collection favorites.

Personally for me it would be the 214270. However it really comes down to personal style, lifestyle, needs, etc. I am not a frequent traveler and like to fly under the radar the majority of the time. I honestly wonder how much I'll want to wear my Sub C once the weather warms up and it is no longer partially hidden under a shirt sleeve.

Both! But I love the date indication, but it can be cumbersome to adjust on the first day of the month.

The gmt has more to offer hands down. With that said, the 6 digit references with the jubilee, pastel colors, and massive lugs make it look like a disco ball. So while the gmt wins on function, the Explorer is more versatile from swim trunks to a suit. If it were a 5 digit coke, or black bezel 5 digit they would win this.

Awesome! Just saw this same model of explorer worn by Lady Gaga on her insta today! I was never a fan of the explorer as such but now I started to like it. Understated and nice clean watch! Pepsi, ofcourse, is an amazing looking watch!

Are you sure that’s an explorer and not a Tudor watch?

Oh just checked, she’s a Tudor brand ambassador and then zoomed in on the dial and the hands are definitely tudor. But it looked like a explorer a lot from the dial size and pattern and the bracelet.

Anyway she still made me appreciate the explorer. I don’t like the thick tudor hands after being used to the Mercedes hands now

Having both, explorer is the better every day watch. Not as expensive or exclusive so not worried about wear and tear. Pepsi is a better travel and/or spect occasion watch.

I daily the Explorer few years back before my white Ceramic Daytona and now BLRO. Since I daily them for more than a year, each, I can say BLRO is definitely the best daily watch, for me. Lightness and comfort of the jubilee, easy reading the time day or night and the splash of red and blue to add color and brighten the day! Cheers!

Pepsi is the better watch but for daily I think the Explorer works better. For me the Pepsi doesn’t quite go with everything.
