That’s a bit of a joke but in all honesty I should pay more attention to the other things they sell. That may help stave off the awkward run ins. Knowing full well the odds of what I really want won’t be sitting in their display case.

Thanks again! I was surprised to see this had so many comments.

I get it. I would have just told her, "I work with <insert name>, I am good". Then been on my way to browse the store. If she bothered me again, I would just tell her to leave me alone.

The shortage has given these SAs PTSD from walk ins. It's like working at the Disney store and hearing it's a small world 400 times a day.

Thats a great way to look at it and there are definitely many good brands out there that you can check out even if you aren't necessarily looking to purchase.

I think it's like visiting a bar when they ran out of booze and can't get anymore.

Nobody is in a good frame of mind.

So true. No matter what they do somebody will deem it unacceptable.

Probably just frustrated since they hear the same thing over and over everyday.

That being said if you bought a few items from another SA you politely say I am just waiting for “SA” as I have bought things in the past from them. Even if you just want to browse I would think multiple purchases with an SA would at least have a generic chat. If they don’t leave you alone at that point or annoyed they are not a good sales person.

I say that from experience and the SA smiled and said no problem, smiled and walked away.
