Incredible example. That is incredibly clean and crisp. Good job on not settling and hunting for exactly what you wanted. Devil are in the details!

Beautiful! My dad's best friend has one he picked up new during Vietnam. Absolutely stunning, and even more rare to find with the original bracelet! Congrats!

Appreciated. Have been wearing it all holiday weekend and it really comes alive in the sun. Happy I jumped on this one when it presented itself.

One of the most elegant GMT models that Rolex ever produced, in my opinion.

Congratulations!

I keep coming back again and again to look at this - That amazing case and bracelet, and the dial which can almost look ruby red in sunlight ... Thanks 1M for sharing all these photos.

The feedback is most appreciated. Dial totally takes on a red-brown color with lots of depth into the dial in sunlight. Not sure if this effect is normal for this series or something unique. It really has a lot of red that shows up in sunlight. The pictures I posted were from an iPhone with zero processing of the image.

Anybody with experience seeing enough of these to have a feeling on this? The only other one that I have seen had a more mat dial with no color change or depth to it.

I certainly don’t know these enough to reliably opine, but from the radial pattern in many of your sunlit pics, I’d *assumed* it is what is described as a ‘tiger eye’ GMT dial - Not tiger eye the stone, but with a dark-brown-sunburst (rather than black) dial from new.

Wow what a gorgeous piece and a joy to look at. I've always wondered the story of the nipple hour markers.

Do some have this "tiger eye" and some not? Ridley serviced this piece for me and said case had never been opened before and watch never polished or touched from what he could tell. So this is the dial that came in the watch. Would think that all in this series would have this effect. Don't see what something like that would develop over time. Any experts willing to chime in? This is such a rare reference that I haven't come across enough to form an opinion.
