If it were me, I'd do a DJ41 over a Milgaus or Santos.

I think it's a fake, Milgauss has two S's.

I think almost any stainless Rolex sport or professional watch will hold it's value than most any other brand watch. A Milgauss would probably do so more than a Datejust, but as I'm sure you know it is better to buy the one you want to wear and not the one you plan to sell.

I think Milgauss Blue probably holds value the best out of the Milgauss line. They seem to be the most popular at the moment.

Datejust is probably more popular, but over the long term Milgauss is probably a better investment. Datejust don't hold very well over decades-long time span. The 1019 Milgauss' from 1970s are selling for around $35K, a very substantial increase in value, whereas a 1970s Datejust 1601 is maybe only $3K or so. The 6541 Milgauss' from the 1950s can sell from anywhere from $100K up to a quarter million.

Obviously, Datejusts don't have appreciation anything like this.

Past is not necessarily prologue and the current crop of modern 116400 Milgauss' may not necessarily show the same appreciation, but Milgauss is definitely much more rare (even by today's standards) than the Datejust .. so it stands to reason they'll hold their value much better over the long run.

Addendum -- I was at the AD today purchasing a new Datejust, and was wearing my Milgauss (that i've had for years) when I made the purchase. The AD made a comment basically saying "Yeah, that Milgauss you've got could be worth $100K or more in a couple decades." I know it's just AD talking, and shouldn't be taken seriously, and I don't necessarily anticipate/believe that it'll hit such numbers, but he was making a comment on the collectibility of the Milgauss relative to the Datejust. Milgauss in general is probably much more collectible.

Milgauss Z Blue will have a better chance of holding its value compared to a Datejust.

The blue version seems to be more popular than the previous version, judging from the shelf display longevity.

Wow! That is one hell of a photo! Clear, colorful, interesting subject with sharp, clean focus. (Subs are great but I've seen 'em day in and day out. Something different is nice.)

Great job,
Mark

Both look very similar except for the second hand , resistance to magnetic n date with cyclop. In term of which will hold value i think the milgauss will hold value better then the dj but not to the 100k like the 6541or 1019. I have the green gv i prefer the milgauss for it uniqueness green crystal n lightling bolt sceond hand

There is also a hidden milgauss in the range

The Air-King It's a Milgauss in disguise look it up...the AK has also a big chance of appreciating in value as there is nothing else like it

Milgauss for sure. No cyclops green crystal is unique and will always be sought after.

You should have the watch that you want the most. I love the Z-Blue and I am lucky enough to own one. There is nothing else like it in the range.

Yep!! I just bought one haha. I think they're both beautiful, and want to own a blue Milgauss too...There are some key differences though in styling, which you would want to pay attention to.

Dial - The biggest difference in the dial to me is legibility. The Air King is easier to read than the Milgauss. The color is also drastically different, lol. The Milgauss blue dial is more striking and will IMHO attracts more attention. I don't own one yet, but when I do, I suspect it will be a compliment-getter!

Bracelet - they both feature the fold-over clasp and ez-link extension, but the center links and center of the clasp on the Milgauss is polished stainless instead of the fully brushed bracelet of the Air King. The Milgauss bracelet gives it some pop, while the Air King bracelet is a bit more sporty. I honestly like them both equally and will probably interchange them when I do get my hands on a Milgauss ;)

I don't really see the purpose of having a DJ41 and DD40. You have the DD40, get something different. So, between the 2, I'd get the Milgauss.

The Cartier is nice, but not sure I like the "squished" (maybe compressed or compact are better words) dial.

From what you already own, i say go for the Migauss and the value should go off in getting what you really want, only if you plan on selling it soon after use then should you consider.

Stainless steel sports ROOLLEEXX. Buy the Milgauss , keep it for a few years you’ll atlleast break even . If not the DJ41. Do not buy the Santos that’s suicide in the second hand market

I prefer the Milgauss over the DJ41 and the Cartier Santos. The blue dial, the green tinted sapphire, the lightning bolt seconds hand, the pcls and the fabulous history make it quite unique.

The better question is which one do you like better. The DJ will probably lose more value but the Milgauss market is limited.

Milgauss is a bit more unique, but of the two in Mark's awesome picture I know which one I would want to wear everyday...... DJ, ...just classic.

If it was designed by Rolex ..has been in the Rolex stable for around 50 years..has Rolex written on the dial..is shown on the Rolex website ..is guaranteed by Rolex is serviced by a RSC.......Then it must be an Omega.

I think not if it satisfies all of the above then it has to be a Rolex
Or are you one of the sheepel that only see a Rolex as a Submariner or a GMT or another sports watch..you have so much to learn about the brand and the design and the way Rolex came about with tool watches and the Milgauss was one of the first tool watches and it is one of the most Classic designs in the range...a superb tool watch for scientists .HV workers and inventers
