GMT "Pepsi" bezel on Explorer II

Hey All, I know this has been brought up before, but I want to know if it has developed anywhere... I bought an aftermarket GMT replacement bezel kit and it seemed a tad bit loose on my Explorer II (I could spin the crystal after it was put on). Any tips on how this could be done? Anyone here done it? Tips?

I know, I know, just go buy a GMT..., but I like the white dial, and this particular watch is sentimental too. Thanks! E-

Is this the look you're going for? :)

(I was just being silly and put an insert on top of the Explorer bezel for a 4th of July IG post.)

I thought this mod was a GMT with an Explorer dial NOT an Explorer with a GMT bezel

Surprised the Explorer II bezel is replaceable. I thought it was fixed/part of the case? If replaceable then would there be a mounting point for the click spring? I guess if they share the same case as a gmt/sub that makes sense, but in that case how is a normal Explorer II bezel fixed?

The Explorer II dial is certainly not part of the case and can be serviced/replaced.
I dunno about the pepsi/white looks though… I think I would prefer the all black or the coke bezel with the white Explorer dial.

I think the aluminum pepsi insert looks great on the 16570. Would be a different story on the 216570 with the orange GMT hand. The 216570 would look pretty sharp with the BLNR ceramic bezel I think

It almost looks good. To me, the orange hand clashes. Otherwise may be on to something...

You're on the right track. It's just that the crappy aftermarket parts are not fitting correctly. I'm going to take a wild guess they're from that company in Texas? At the very least, I would try to source an genuine Rolex crystal retaining ring (for sapphire crystal GMT or Submariner Date) and go from there.

It looks so unique, the pepsi bezel is well complemented on the white dial.

Ewe... ick....

Nothing like the rare white dialed GMTs from 1953/4.
