Jubilee for 16710 GMT with lug holes

Looking for a jubilee to fit my GMT (with lug holes) and I'm considering various options:

Would you get a used 6510H jubilee bracelet with 502b end links for 850€ (EDIT: without clasp) which is the correct braclet for the watch or spend 2000€ for a new 6510H with 502T end links (EDIT: includes clasp) that is for the GMT without lug holes but will fit the watch correctly?

I like the idea of having the 502b endlinks but I also like the idea of having a new bracelet.

The correct jubilee for your 16710 is the ref. 62510, stamped "50" on the underside of the last link (before the endlink).

The 502T endlinks will fit correctly all 5-digit GMTs, whether with lug holes or not. Will also fit other watches such as Daytona, 5- and 6-digit Subs and 6-digit GMTs.

The 502B endlinks are to be used only for older cases with lug holes (will fit no-holes as well, but then you will not be able to remove the bracelet - ever! - unless you destroy your endlinks).

I would go with the correct bracelet. The new one is not worth the extra cost at this level.

Both the bracelets he’s looking at are correct. The only difference is the end links and both will work with his watch. The only difference in the end links is the cutouts on the underside of the 502t, which no one can see.

All that said, I’m not sure what good the first bracelet will be, if it doesn’t have a clasp.

Thanks for comments. I double checked and the bracelets were 62510H; I don't know where the other number came from.

With regards to the bracelet without the clasp, I could source the clasp separately. From what I have seen the bracelet and clasp are not too hard to find but the 502b end-links are. 502T end-links are a bit easier to find than 502b.

I was wondering what importance people put on the proper end links when sourcing parts for their watch. I guess the most important is that the style and fit are correct.

I think I will look to get the 62510H with 502T end-links new. Then I don't have to worry about stretch and I can resell the bracelet to a wider audience (those without lug holes) if I later decide to do so. Besides, the used bracelet with 502b end-links is no longer available.

I see some for BNIB for 2000€ which is expensive but is that roughly the going price?

What's the difference between 502 and 502T My 1985 GMT has the 50 stamped bracelet with 502 endlinks. 502T just newer?

The 502T has a small notch underneath so you can get a spring bar tool in to remove the bracelet. This is needed for GMTs without lug holes.

I got my 62510H with 502T end links from the Singapore RSC for about US$1100. Brand new of course. You should try your nearest RSC.

Yes, for the "newer" no-holes cases.

Did you have to trade in your old bracelet?

Nope. But beware. RSC policies vary from place to place. So you might encounter a different set of rules elsewhere.

Indeed, Singapore RSC gives you the oyster bracelet back. The easiest thing to do is to call your RSC up, and ask them! And in the off chance, you can always just take in the head only ;)

I called Rolex at St. James earlier in the week. They advised the jubilee bracelet was £750 plus 20% VAT so £900.

I've just bought a jubilee 62510h from an RSC for my 16710 no lug holes earlier this week, and this was exactly what I paid for mine.
Before they did the work I asked if they would return my original oyster bracelet which they confirmed they would.
They did exactly that, albeit in a plastic sandwich bag. Nice.

I’m interested in a 16710 and I really do like the jubilee bracelet. I’m most interested in 16710 with luminor as opposed to tritium. One question I have is what years were Jubilee bracelets offered on the 16710. Were there any luminor GMTs sold with Jubilee bracelets? Most of the Jubilee equipped GMTs I have seen seem to be from the 80s with tritium.

Thanks!

I guess you mean luminova (1998-1999, SWISS only dial) or superluminova (2000 until discontinued in 2007, SWISS MADE dial). The jubilee was pretty much an option throughout the life of the 16710; just not so popular during more modern times, which is why most examples you see are from earlier watches with T dials.

You are correct, I meant luminova and superluminova. And I really appreciate your response. I hope to get a Coke with a oyster bracelet, and get a spare jubilee from Rolex to switch out at my whim. Knowing that all 16710 were available with the Jubilee is really helpful. Thanks!

Yeah, if you go to an RSC and say you bought a used watch without a bracelet, they'll still sell you one (as long as it officially matches your watch head).

I'd get the new one, personally. Even if used, I wouldn't ever get a case-holes bracelet because that dramatically limits your ability to put it on other watches. There's just no reason for that unless you're dead set on having exactly the bracelet that came with the watch.

*edit* I believe it's more expensive if you don't trade bracelets, though.

So I contacted "local" AD (Not RCS) via email and ordered a new jubilee bracelet to be mailed to me (20€ for shipping). Price was 895€+VAT; came with 502T endlinks.

I now have full set of options with inserts and bracelets.

[EDIT:] thought I would add that the jubilee is noisy.

I picked my jubilee bracelet from AD on Saturday who ordered it directly from Rolex the day before. £850.

This is interesting, my 18238 Day-Date has, "Swiss Made" on the dial, it is an "A" series, which I thought meant 1999, but "Swiss Made" started in 2000? Fascinating, I'll have to tell my son his birth year watch is wrong, and therefore he doesn't get it now....looks like I'll have to keep it...

Not sure why people buy from grey market the Jubilee bracelet for more than twice the price when they are easily available from the RSC.
Same with the inserts.
