My 1984 GMT hand is the same way.

Put the loupe down before you poke your eye out.

Blue hand on my BLNR is better than that but not great. I try not to look too closely.

Put the loupe away. No watch that is mass produced is perfect.

I think it's kinda pretty- it adds character. One day when I do get my hands on a GMT, I hope it has a nice little unique flaw like that one.

That being said - Rolex should have caught that...

Only noticeable with a loupe, but in general paint application, particularly on hands, does not seem to be one of Rolex's stronger points.

Totally unacceptable on a $10k watch. I'd hope theyd replace it free of charge if the owner wanted them to.

What vulgar timepieces. The lack of crispness on that paint line.....revolting. (Breathes heavily into paper bag)

The paint on that GS GMT hand is not the best.

i noticed this yesterday on the Watchfinder video also and here it is on the forum today. Mass produced watch, so the Steel shortage is all artificial.

I’ve never looked at one watch I have with a loupe — and I have no intention to.

Yep. Every time I pick up a loupe, it turns out to be a mistake. I’ve put the loupe down for good!

TE]

Your second pix shows a GMT hand in one colour and therefore there is no issue with a defining edge.

Your first pix shows GMT hand with a red border ad the outside bottom edge of that border is very rough.

Having said that - the GMT hand on my GMT is a bit rough on the edge.

In these videos (with the macro shots) I always see horrid things but usually not on Rolex.

GS has plenty of issues, but Hodinkee has done a great job touting them as superior to Swiss, which is really not the case for anyone who has actually bought a few watches.

To my eyes, the brush tip that the technician used on the GMT hand in the pics the OP posted had not been properly “pointed”. So a stray brush hair or two made contact with the white gold beyond the area to be painted.

What looks good is the watch - this slight issue wouldn’t trigger a request from me to change the GMT hand even if I could have seen it.

Loupey Lou’s look for little things and miss the big picture methinks.
