70% Subby.....30% Platty!!

Hi guys,

At present, this is how I'm distributing wrist-time to my 2 Rolex watches....

70% of my time goes to my SS Sub-date...

and 30% of my time goes to Platty...

So whats your next Rolex going to be?

Are you waiting for Basel 2009?

Inquiring minds what to know...

Great looking Subby and Platty. You wear them well.

Good question, Chris. If there's one model I'm really waiting for from Basel 2009, it would have to be a 41 mm DJ!! That'll be the day!!

the platty is a stunning looking thing.

can it be polished easily if there are minor scratches on the bezel?

P.S : But I think Platty more look good in your hand than Subby.
Your white hair look so contrast with you Platty...

Sadly....no!!

Platinum is very difficult to polish unlike gold or steel. However, the good news is that with Platinum, you don't lose any of the metal whilst buffing.........it kinda just gets spread around.

Only Rolex in Geneva have a very special tool to separate the insert from the serrrated Platinum bezel and then carry out the polishing. No AD can do it - not even a full-fledged RSC.

Yes, this Platinum bezel can be very expensive to replace in the event of major damage!!

Tell us more about that platinum bezel you referred to in this post, JJ. And what about that beautiful dial, is it .950 platinum as well? I don't think you sing the platty's praises nearly enough.

Somehow, I just know I'm gonna get a Bart Simpson special back on this one.

Thanks JJ, I probably wear my platty 70% of the time, and divide the remainder among my SD, Bluesy, and a PP.

Cheers,

Chris
