Scammed by scammed account of...

I just got scammed by this forum member mjclark32, he was a long time member here with a lot of feedbacks. Now his account got banned, so I know I am scammed by this guy for $2175.

Contacted my local bank, unfortunately the money was transferred, so bank could only filed report.

it is an unfortunate thing. lesson learned and either the account holder was a scammer or his account got hacked.

So sorry to hear about this. It appears that 'mjclark32' was a probably a legitimate member whose account was hacked. I searched old posts for the seller's name, and found this seller hacked an account 'acquanutilus' back in March. As buyers, I guess we need to consider that the seller could be using a hacked account.

before I made the payment, I google searched phone number, and email, nothing poped out.

Research shows mjclark32 first name is Mike and located in New Jersey. Should have been red flags.

Did you alert the MODs before posting? One of them probably read your post and just banned the account, to prevent someone else from being ripped off.

Actually I post this after I noticed this account was banned. it was 7:00 in the morning in California.

This account was banned because of your report.

Also, in your report, you have been dealing with Hasan Chowdury, a known scammer and not the member associated with user mjclark32.

We ban all accounts that appear to have been hijacked by other individuals.

Is there any way to find out why a user has been banned? I tried messaging through the "Contact" feature to ask about another user (RRM1020). I have been discussing getting a Batgirl through him but got sketched out when I noticed his account was banned after he made the post.

That user account was hacked/phished so you were most probably talking to a scammer.

That's what I thought. When I called him it was very obvious that it was over some sort of Google Voice or Wifi-only network. I make a lot of international calls from my own business so I can tell from small nuances of sound clarity. I called him out stating that there's no way I'm speaking to someone in Miami, and he refused my offer to get cash in hand F2F so I'd say within 99% he was scamming. Especially because he never replied again once I asked him to send me a time-stamped proof of having the watch or doing a video call.
