Scammed by scammed account of...

I just got contacted by another scammer, reported him "Guinness11". This is 3 scammers in the last 3 days --- 2 factor is highly needed.

Agreed. It seems as though more and more accounts are being stolen, mine included. With the dollar amount of the transactions on this forum, I think it’s time to beef up site security.

So, there is a 16600 Sea dweller for sale right now in the forum classifieds from seller Aquanutilus. Is this the scammer? If so and we know this, then why is the for sale post still up there?

It’s a fair question. Even if a seller was compromised and reinstated, it will be hard to know if it has happened again.

One thing Steve always tells us is to be very careful and do our homework. Verify...

That's what I thought. When I called him it was very obvious that it was over some sort of Google Voice or Wifi-only network. I make a lot of international calls from my own business so I can tell from small nuances of sound clarity. I called him out stating that there's no way I'm speaking to someone in Miami, and he refused my offer to get cash in hand F2F so I'd say within 99% he was scamming. Especially because he never replied again once I asked him to send me a time-stamped proof of having the watch or doing a video call.

Hello - I'm unclear what's the current situation with Aquanautilus. If his account was hacked do we have reason to believe that's still the case and so we should not try to buy a watch from him? I've been interested in one of his listings.

I'm surprised he hasn't posted here to clarify.

I think his account was recovered but I didn’t see he had anything for sale. Do u have the link?
